Are Bots Responding To My FB Marketplace Ad?
« on: January 22, 2023, 11:59:05 pm »
I have a set of wheels for sale on Facebook Marketplace.  I've had a few responses that look like the attached, where a 'group' is created with one of the ad's pictures used as the group photo.  I've responded to a couple of them, but usually get a lowball offer back.

Should I ignore them, block them, report them or all of the above?

Are they still available and what is a recommended Hercules tire for them?

I believe the group creation thing is normal, I get it if I respond to an ad.
As for the responders, dunno how, but it's probably a scam of some sort.    Lots of 60%'ers out there, you have an ad for $300, they'll offer $180

Normal....Facebook has the "Is this still available?" setup as a button you can click to send that message as a response to an ad, so lazy people just click that instead of typing out their own message. More often than not, once you respond you'll hear nothing back, not because they were trying a scam, but because they're lazy and weren't interested in the item enough to bother typing out a decent inquiry.
The group thing is normal.
