I approve of this. Chryco has improved their interiors and refinement a lot post global financial crisis and now they are jamming ridiculous amounts of power under the hood of everything. This is excellent. Its a poor man's ML63 but trades panache for power.

Now give us a 300C Hellcat. Oh yes baby.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

If that’s too much horsepower for you, you can opt for the paltry 475-hp base model, courtesy of a naturally aspirated 6.4L V8 currently employed in the Grand Cherokee SRT.

I'd be plenty happy with this "secretary special"  :P

In order to fix the too-much-torque dilemma, engineers could electronically limit torque in lower gears (that would be no fun); or they could just skip four-wheel drive, also no fun. What to do, FCA, what to do? Hellcat ALL THE THINGS!

I actually think the RWD only solution would be hilariously awesome.

Over powered for Ontario,
On Thursday drove from Cobourg to Windsor to Cobourg along the the 401 ,928 km ,  it a very straight boring drive, the only thing you see is cops and wind turbines,
Friday drove to Ottawa along 401/416 back on Saturday 660 km drive , another very straight boring drive , cops putting people over doing 123 km/hr

If you do not track this car , then what is the point in having 700 hp because you will never use that kind of power

I wonder if they'll redux the SRT Ram and throw the Hellcat in there...

You don't get the point of the Hellcat, do you?

It's not a track car.  You want an american track car?  Get a Corvette or a Z/28.  You get a Hellcat for cruising the streets on a sunday evening.

Ronnie, that was one of the most enjoyable news reads! !

I think FCA will find a way to make the driveline last at least the warranty period...limited torque at low RPMs sounds like the easiest way.

I love me some Hellcat but part of me wonders if a Trailhawk edition might do better for the Grand Cherokee.  I just think there is a greater history of people taking their Grand Cherokee off roading than at the track.  I know that they offer a more off road trim level but I'm talking something more aggressive than that.  Obviously they wouldn't be able to charge as much as one of these Trackhawk beasts, mainly because if you're paying $60K+ for your SUV you're likely not going to take it off road.

The Trailhawk edition is for the Grand Cherokee. Total craziness in a Cherokee!

If they can Hellcat a Grand Cherokee, could they not do the same with its platform brethren, the Durango? I thought that FCA wanted to make Dodgo home of all the big motors. Seems strange to give Jeep the Hellcat motor before the 300.

So while I'm normally totally on board with "Hellcat all the things" I agree with this:

And for off-roading, would't it be more fun to try to jam the 6.7L Cummins into the GC? Torque is more important for off-roading, right?  ;D

"Would you like to Hellcat that for $25K more ?"  ;D

Sounds like a click away option for those who want the most. When SRT just ain't enough.

remember the Dodge Omni??...they had a hot version called the GLH.

i say they need a new Omni, Hellcatted.   ;D

it would be like a Golf Hellcat.   ;D

kris has a great idea... keep the super performance with the dodge branding... can't get any srt Durango... or the diesel... so why not give it the hellcat to at least offer something special there...

I just picked up an srt jeep today (just a dealer trade, not for myself)... amazing car. the added hellcat is not needed I think, but whatever.. I guess if you can....

but then again, they don't have enough hellcat engines currently to put into chargers and challengers that are presold... so just don't get it.

A shame Dodge has abandoned the sport compact class - especially since they had the GLH and the SRT4.   I think Hellcat would stay would stay with the supercharged V8 but there are other "hellish" names that they could use like the Demon (which ironically was based off the Dart)
