There is just so little profit in the production of little sh*t boxes.  Hence Toyota, the leader in turning production into PROFIT, farms it out to a company that needs to better utilize a factory.  It's appearance is irrelevant to ppl that gravitate, for what ever reason, to this vehicle.  ;D

I do, it was just one of the many problems that added to its downfall.

IMO GM has good engineering. Its legacy costs, bad management, and accounting that kill them.
