I thought badge engineering was what was the major problem with GM and brought it to bankruptcy,

You obviously don't know much about what lead GM to bankruptcy.  Badge engineering was the least of their worries...

This is a weird collaboration. I could understand if they shared a platform and an engine but the Toyota/Scion version is basically an uglified 2.

There is just so little profit in the production of little sh*t boxes.  Hence Toyota, the leader in turning production into PROFIT, farms it out to a company that needs to better utilize a factory.  It's appearance is irrelevant to ppl that gravitate, for what ever reason, to this vehicle.  ;D

I do, it was just one of the many problems that added to its downfall.

Lack of quality engineering was GM's biggest issue.

IMO GM has good engineering. Its legacy costs, bad management, and accounting that kill them.

Cadillac is building what the car magazines want. Great recipe for sales success (see: FR-S, BRZ).

2) It's a car! It should appease American tastes.

1) What marketing ppl would like you to think about the product
2) What the product really is   :rofl2:
