I hate to say this......but my current car, the Mazda 3 BM. It's not a bad car at all, but it fails to make me love driving. It ticks all the boxes on paper: it's low-cost to run, eco-friendly, the interior is nice, the build quality is solid, and it has the latest safety and convenience features.
It's a bit underbaked in a few details though. I didn't think it would grate on me so much, but the road noise is loud regardless of what tires are mounted. The lack of rear visibility irritates me all the time. The big engine has some NVH rough edges. The suspension's too soft and allows too much fore/aft motions. The bi-xenon headlamps are too dim on full beam. And other things like no express up/down windows (aside from the driver) and unlit controls add up. But worst is that well, I just don't enjoy driving it.....it never makes me smile or laugh in the way my old, if occasionally flawed BMW X3 did.
