terrible styling, will be very dated in 5 years

Nissan has never held my interest outside of Gojira, and I dont see that changing anytime soon...

Really?  I can list off a handful of Nissans that had/have my interest:

S30 chassis 240/260/280Z
Z31 chassis 300ZX
Z32 chassis 300ZX
Z33 chassis 350Z
Z34 chassis 370Z
R34 chassis Skyline GT-R
R35 chassis GT-R
S13/S14/S15 chassis 240SX/Silvia
A32/A33 Maxima
L31 Altima
Not to mention some Infiniti models (Q45, G35).

ok their past portfolio does have some bright stars, but I was talking about current models....

I would like Infiniti but the VQ engine, to me, is one of the worst sounding V6s outside of GM...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrs0oa-XIV4

Yeah, sounds terrible.....

I wonder if he is talking about the older V6s (like the old 3.1 and 3.4).

Yeah the old Cavalier Z24s and Lumina Euros did all sound horrible....those, yes. New Camaro, that sounds pretty good.
Lighten up Francis.....

I see a ton of these on the road... And quite frankly, they're incredible value compared to the Lexus RX.

I saw a new Lexus SUV on the way home and quite frankly it's the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time. The Murano to me, is a thing of beauty in comparison.

Well they are both certainly VERY bold.

I would love to drive that road.  The Genesis east up long sweeping curves like that.  Tight switchbacks, not so much.  ;D  And sounds great too.

I don't think the 3.5 and larger V6 Nissan / Infiniti engines sound bad at all, but they do suffer in comparison to the lovely 3.0 motor that fell victim to the midsize horsepower war Nissan started in the first place.

When I was younger, my brand new '88 Z24 V6 2.8L 5MT sounds good to me  ;D

That's because the old VQ30DE was actually a proper Japan-designed engine.  The subsequent VQ35DE, VQ35HR and VQ40DE, VQ37VHR are a French-influenced.

I am, even some of the recent 3.6 and many of the GM High Feature engines sound just...bad

I do admit, the new Camaro does sound good.

The V6 in our Acadia sounds terrible imo. Has a nice exhaust note but anything north of 4000 rpm is just ear wrenching.

These new Muranos are quite shocking to look at when you see one for the first time, after that they tame down some. As mentioned, I don't think these will age well.

Since the merge with Renault, the Nissan is no longer the Nissan we knew....

Quite right....but for both bad and good.

BAD: Since the "partnership" (merger?), Nissan doesn't prioritize fun-to-drive mainstream vehicles.  It's just bland (mechanically, if not exterior styling), efficient, competent - and no more.

GOOD: As a former Nissan fan, it pains me to say it - but they are actually profitable now.  Nissan lost money hand over fist during the "glory days", and was on the verge of bankruptcy before the  Renault deal.  Making fun vehicles was great for enthusiasts, but they either sold poorly or cost too much money to produce.

In addition to the ones above:
Pulsar GTi-R
Stagea
Laurel

Nissan used to do the car thing very well.....now, besides Godzilla, there is literally nothing that would make me darken their doorway.

There's a Stagea two doors down from me. You sure can't lose it in a parking lot of Camcords. Especially since he's planning to to repaint it in Skyline Midnight Purple  :o

The deep purple colour Nissan had in that era was awesome.  LP2 paint code IIRC.

Nissan bold GOOD. Lexus bold BAD, VERY BAD....

I agree with Jaeger that the boldness works better on Murano than Maxima and said so in the Maxima review recently.

He has several JDMs (Stagea, MR2, Soarer) so I'm sure it'll be nice. The non-turbo mill will be the first thing to go...
