I ended up booking a trip over the weekend.  The wife and I will be getting away without the kids in November.  We ended up booking a swim out room at Sandals in Grenada.  I've never stayed at a Sandals, but have always heard great things.

Never been to a Sandals, but took my family to Beaches (Sandals' family resorts) Turks & Caicos in February and it was head-and-shoulders above any all-inclusive I've ever been to.  Mind you, you pay for that premium, but it's nice knowing all the restaurants are actually good (not "good for all inclusive") and you can order a Johnny Walker black label at the pool bar at 10am...

I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip.

Yeah, really looking forward to the top notch food and premium drink list.  We haven't been away without the kids since last spring when we went to Thailand, so it will be a nice break.  Planning on doing lots of snorkelling and diving.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Oh my, last spring!  That's crazy talk!

This past weekend we finally made the arrangements of who is watching our kids during our 4 night vacation to Vegas.  Sister in law watching my 2 year old at her house.  My parents (who have never watched my daughter before) will be watching her at their house.  Sometimes her parents watch my daughter, but they will be in Florida.

The last time we were on a plan together was April 2013 (but with my daughter).  Last alone trip was 3 nights in Montreal last winter.

Thinking a good week and a half during the Christmas holidays in Montréal and Québec City. For the umpteeth time, I know, but that's okay- I'm most comfortable there.

I'm still a bit  :-\ about not being in Europe this year, but there's next spring. In its place, I think I will do 2 track days followed by a few days to the beach. Sure, not totally relaxing*, but at least it will be things I enjoy doing.

*I struggle to totally unwind from work thoughts until Day 3 so "a week off" is more like....3 days off. C'est ma vie dans le secteur automobile..... :surrend:

I have my son and daughter every day during the summer while trying to work, go to meetings with banks, my builder, electricians, etc.  So it will be a nice break for my wife and I to get away for a week.  When are you going to Vegas?

Well, this weekend my buddy who moved to NYC with that awesome cottage in the Kawarthas is having us up. 215hp, 1.5L supercharged 3-cyl jetski (weighing 768lbs) here I come!

Nothing says "wheeee" like 72mph on a flat, glassy lake at sunset. *drool*

... And then I got invited to a bar mitzvah in NYC for January ... What a vacation...

Yes, I am anxious for school to start as well.  As I am home with the kids during the summer.  When my wife is home I do the lawns.  When we go camping I have to juggle getting the lawns done with the kids, so they are done before we go away.

We go to Vegas, Oct 22-26, the Signature at MGM Grand.

I got to do a few touristy things today. Forbidden City and area.
Beijing is ready for the Trudeau visit. There are Canadian flags leading up to the airport and by the forbidden city entrance. I just flew to Shanghai and got to see an A380 take off right in front of my plane.

Hot tip..avoid China Eastern if possible ;-) (and this was a shirt internal flight.. I can only imagine what flying from Canada with them would be like)

A SHIRT internal flight NO worries Trudeau dont own any.............. ;)

Hey you can still get yourself a Merkur here in Croatia!

It's a kind of like a hybrid Canadian Tire/Home Depot without automotive - I believe it is headqurtered in Slovenia with stores in Ex-Yugoslavia. Tthey had them in Bosnia and Serbia when I lived there.  Where are you in Croatia?
