When 3 equals 4, only newer, posher and sunnier: The new generation 4 Series Cabriolet uses familiar drivetrain bits from higher-end 3 Series sedans.

Official Canadian fuel consumption figures for the 4 Cab were not available as of early March, but American EPA numbers suggest the 428i Cabriolet with the more efficient eight-speed automatic and shift paddles will average 9.4 L/100 km combined, at 10.2 city and 6.9 highway. Numbers aren’t available yet for the six-cylinder and xDrive AWD versions of the Cabs, but the coupes average out to 9.8 and 10.7 respectively.

If you are getting this car do you really care how much gas you are using  :rofl2:

Another impressive but less high-tech feature is the large windblocker that clips onto the rear seating area, blocking it from passenger use, but creating a fold-up mesh ‘wall’ that dramatically decreases wind and noise into the cabin when up
The windscreen has been out since at least 1992 , with the e36

I've read elsewhere that the 4-series convertible won't be available with a manual.

Probably not as much as the average joe buying a civic or corolla.  Still, this is a $70k car...not a $300k car.   I'm sure most owners would appreciate any savings at the pumps (whilst not compromising performance).

Valley of Fire win!  Was just there last year, the temperature was 107ºF.  Nice!  Too bad about the coppers, I saw only one park ranger, but then again, I was driving a rental Corolla, not exactly the sports car of choice...

Big deal  most convertibles have had this feature for years. If not the after market will do to. Cardboard also works. :o
Plus if you don't want wind buffeting don't get a convertible.

I like the white though.

Considering there is NO REASON to be speeding through these parks, I'm all for the heavy handed coppers monitoring them. There are plenty of other places near by that people can ring out these cars, NP and SP are not one of those places.

Most successful people I know care about mileage.  They got rich by not wasting money.

Three pages in the Regal thread and 8 comments for the 435i Cabrio.

This is an unusual part of the automotive internet.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

The Regal seems to be more controversial. A BMW convertible simply is what it is, I guess.

Always thought it would be neat to own an older 3-series convertible for summer cruising. I'd have no interest in buying a new one though.

I found it odd that transmission options aren't mentioned in the article? I'm very interested in the 4-series, but would only consider if I can get it with a stick-shift.

Saw a black 4-series convertible in the flesh today, roof up. The proportions look a lot better than they did on the E93. It's cool that they're offering this with X-drive; seemed like a no-brainer addition that should've been offered on the previous model.
