The trendy restaurants in my neighborhood often have interesting / flashy cars parked out front, but no need to report all the German, Italian or Californian machinery seen there. Yesterday one parked car was special however: a Citroën Traction Avant! I slowed down to stare at it, while my 18 y.o. daughter could not beleive how ugly it was. Kids.

Guy in the subaru behind me was holding up traffic ogling.

I've been reading up on these in the thoughts of finding a used one in a couple of years for my camper-van dreams.  Hope it didn't look too massive.  Specs say it should fit in my garage.

offtopic .. also been looking at pre-made solutions of turning minivans/cargo-vans into camping vans such as the links below.  I didn't even know that stuff existed.

Attending a conference in CLT  :) (Get out of jail free card, says my coworker). Staying at a business-y hotel, tons of rentals. Saw a Volvo S60 as a rental  :lick: I'd like to give that a try.

Went for a walk last night in my neighbor hood.  It's been hailing every other days for like the 5th time now.  Couple days ago it hailed golf ball size!  You should see the amount of wrecked cars in the neighborhood :-[.   I also notice the older vehicles has less damage, built in the 80s, 90s,  probably thicker panels.
Which city ?
I have never parked any  vehicle in the garage ,never had any hail damage in 40 years of owning my own vehicle

Saw a mint Plymouth Prowler on a neighbour's lawn the other morning.  Looked like he was having a party/get-together as the driveway was full.

I drove one recently. Felt like I had stolen a shuttle bus from a hotel, and I've been a minivan driver since 2003! A GC CVP is less crude than a Metris. It's a commercial truck, really.

I have been passenger in a number of these , 7 passengers and luggage , no problem
It does the job , not different than Chevy or Ford vans

This may be a little off topic since I wasn't technically on the way to work, but last week I was in London and was on my way to Heathrow and I saw a right-hand-drive Dodge Avenger.  It was the most recent iteration that was almost identical to the previous Chrysler 200.  These were terrible cars bought mostly by people who needed basic soulless transportation and didn't want to be bothered with a Corolla's reliability.  Why on earth, in a country with so many good and interesting choices, would someone buy an Avenger?

I also saw a left-hand-drive Escalade down by Buckingham but that was less of a surprise.  Driving that in London traffic must be a real treat.

Calgary, in the south.  Some summers are ok but you can assume having hail at least twice a summer minimum.  This year we are at 6 hail storm already and there will be more. Most are minor (peas size) but it only takes one. the weather is weird here with the mountains being close.  We had about 5 hail storm in the last 2 weeks.

I remember couple years ago it was coming down hard,  golf ball size or bigger,  I snuck in an covered parking while driving.  there was an Austin Martin just getting hammered hard wright through the windows...

Lots of dealerships here have "Hail damage specials"

Its pretty crazy here too. Lots of folks with hail damage. Hitting the farmers bad who were on track for a great year.
