What a great car and kudos to auto.ca for a winter performance review. I've rambled on before about how much I like this car so I'll save you all from a repeat. My only new comment is that I really appreciate Audi's effort at making the engine bay look so freaking beautiful – I just love it when manufacturers reward car people for opening the hood. Mercedes has largely abandoned making its engines look fussed over, the engine bay on the Berlin taxi is a lifeless blob of ugly black plastic surely dictated by a car-hating bean counter.

Speaking of which...thinking of the Tesla review...what are you supposed to look at under the hood to appreciate and recognize the craftsmanship of the engine motor (or whatever you call it)? Is there even an hood that opens?

the RS5 is nice, the RS7 is even better...the A7 was already a great vehicle...the RS7 takes it up 6 notches.

Apparently, 93 grand doesn't warrant a ride that's tolerable...Your comment on the harshness of the ride kinda screws the rest of the article...
Another peeve: Why is a screaming meemy of an engine superior to one that makes it's HP at a much lower RPM? I live across the street from a High School, and really hate the kids in their Screeching, gutless Honda Civics...Give me anything with an old 350 4bbl and a 3 spd GM transmission, any day...I just hate high pitched wailing....Real cars don't do that...Nor do they ride like buck-boards and cost 93 thousand dollars..

Well, your old Chevy 350 with a 3 speed from 30 years ago  is lucky to make 250hp on a good day, spinning the Audi V8 to 8500rpm makes for 450hp, simple math. (but I also hate the sound of high-revving Honda)

I couldn't find any references to buck-board harsh wagon ride quality so not sure where you got that, he mentioned the 20" tires transmit a lot of "information", which you would want in a  sportscar.

Ninety Three thousand dollars!!!! W T F Audi, that's almost a mortgage payment for christ sake. Why you people keep reviewing these cars that are unattainable to 90% of the population is beyond me. You'd have to be an idiot to put out that kind of money for something that will be recycled plastic and metal in 20 years. I honestly don't know how the Germans sell anything but VW's in this country. I'd like to see the bill for a brake job on those fancy ceramic binders. BMW and MB are no better. I envy your job sometimes, but this kind of crap just grinds my gears, I could by TWO F-150's for this price!!

You can also get 3 Hyundai Accents for the price of an F-150. Whats your point?

Seemed easy enough to me.... :rofl2:

My POint is, I could probably get 700,000K out of them 3 Accents, and still be driving them long after that Audi's in the junkyard.  They want way too much money for what it is. The warranty on them Accents is probably double what you would get on that 93K penis extension.

When I had the Supra it seemed that way (racing in Sparta).

No..I live near Windsor and regularly meet CTC members in London as its a pretty good halfway point.  There was a stretch there where I think I delivered 3 Magnaflow exhaust to people in London.....

Lol, yeah, it was easy enough.  I'd be stopping by your place tomorrow on my way home from Detroit if I didn't have Michael from the Globe car pooling with me.
