It looks like the director is a robot!   ;D

What an amazing experience for her!  Is this something she plans on pursuing?
Yeah, you're right! The Directors sit in the front room and watch on the monitors to get a better feel for how things look on the TV screen. I would say that in the 2 hrs of filming they did the scene more than a dozen times on one camera and then again on another camera shooting at a different angle.
Kate likes doing comedy's. So far she's only done TV shows but wants to ultimately do movies. As far as a career no, this is just something she sees as a fun way to earn money. Actra pays ~$700/day.

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Designated Survivor

Anybody else watching this. Just watched the first 2 episodes and am really liking it. Of course now we have to wait another week for the next one. No wonder I like living behind the curve and binge watch on Netflix.

I only watched the pilot but it seemed like a typical network drama to me. Dumb subplots (the whole dubstep recording thing), stupid exposition (we know Maggie Q is in the FBI because when she left the bar she had to get her FBI jacket out of the trunk), etc. Supposedly Kiefer Sutherland's reaction to the script was that he could see this taking over the next 10 years of his life but it's tough to foresee what they can do with this show after a season or two. It could very well suffer from what happened to Prison Break, where its success meant that it had to continue so they had to break out of prison multiple times. That's a show that should have been left at a single season, maybe two.

Did anyone else watch the first episode of Westworld? HBO is betting big since its drama lineup is not very strong right now (GoT going away, Leftovers only has one season left, Vinyl is cancelled) and they need a big hit post-GoT. The pilot was fantastic and it's clear they spent a LOT of money on it. I never saw the original movie but it sounds like the show is deviating from it quite drastically.

This x100.  Designated Survivor is typical network trite.

This year we're actually refusing to watch anything from the major networks on a weekly basis.  We still love Agents of Shield and a few other network shows but even those we'll watch at season's end off a streaming service.  Last year we finally had it with the completely inconsistent schedules of network TV due to the Christmas "break", baseball playoffs, football playoffs, etc.

Watched the first two episodes of Lethal Weapon with my oldest boy. The first episode is almost a summarized movie plot. Amusing but not amazing (I didn't expect amazing).

I can't remember the last network drama that I watched a whole season of. We do watch a couple of the network sitcoms but 98% of what I watch comes from the premium cable channels or streaming services.

Watched the first episode of Divorce on HBO.  Stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Hayden Church.  Still on the fence about whether I like it or not, but will stick with it for a few more.

Damn, I liked that show.

Watched two episodes of Designated Survivor and that was enough for me.  I'm not a big fan of Kiefer Sutherland.  He seems to be able to play only one type of character.
I've also watched two episodes of Westworld and I can't wait for next week's show. Big thumbs up for me.  I'm also enjoying Quarry.

Yeah, and it's getting better.  Amazing cast - hope the writing keeps catching up to the talent they've managed to snag.

Just finished season 1 of Better Call Saul.  Really enjoyed it. Hope Netflix eventually releases season 2 in Canada.

If you liked season 1 you'll like season 2.  This show is like Breaking Bad-it keeps on getting better and better.
Jonathan Banks (Mike) is my favorite character.

Have not seen this. Is it based on the original early 70's film with Yul Brynner and James Brolin as guests of a high end amusement park?

Yes but it's supposedly quite different from the movie (which I haven't seen).

We like to watch a few episodes of a show at a time, so we're saving these up and will watch soon.
