I am sure the atmosphere was good.  Still nothing like an event that has sold out seats, many talking about the game, get togethers to watch the game.  Guess it could get better come playoffs..

^^ I see empty seats

There always is on weeknight games.  I doubt that ballpark is ever near capacity other than the home opener.
Not in '91  '92 and ' 93 it was impossible to a ticket even week day, the sold over 4 million tickets a year

That's what I am talking about!  Hope those days come around again.  This time I will be old enough to get there myself, and buy a beer!

A freind of mine that owns a tree trimming company dropped over today to give me an estimate on some work I need done.  He shows up in a beige 1999 Lincoln Continental with beige leather interior and all in very good condition.  I see him out and around once in a while and he is usually driving his company branded truck so I had no idea he owned this.  I asked him about it and he said he bought in 2003 as a low mileage trade-in from a local dealer and that it spent its winters in Florida.

Funny thing is that my father used to one in the exact same year and colour combo, spent every winter in Florida, and would trade in every 4 years for a new car.  I think it's a very good possiblilty that it's the same car, which is pretty cool imo.  O0

It is fwd, has the 4.6 V8 with over 380k on it now and said it has been a great car with no major repairs required and is still original. He uses it mostly for highway travel and takes it to Florida every winter when he shuts his business down for a couple of months every year, which was his initial reason for buying it in the forst place.

A staffer is driving his brother's 2014 VW GTI R today. I did not know VW made a GTI "R", but I saw it with my own eyes. He claims it has around 270hp.

Does this sound right? #IthoughtIkneweverything

There was a 2014 Golf R, but it shouldn't have a GTI badge on it anywhere.

No such thing as a GTI R, so maybe he stuck an extra badge on it to impress the ladies?

:rofl2:  It's probably the very rare, not often seen, VW AMG M3 GTI R Type-S, if he option it with all the correct badges.

I'm going to check it out. It looks like a GTI...it's red, has the plaid seats, red stitching everywhere, etc. I thought maybe the R was the phoney badge.

 :shake:

I always fail to understand what would drive someone to put a phony badge on what is already a desirable vehicle?

Particularly when the only people who could even acknowledge what the "R" badge meant will likely also recognize that the car is not, in fact, a Golf R.

Silly.

That's it, I'm going to fire him.

Actually, he's not a car guy so his brother (the car owner) is probably bullsh!tting him.

But he should know better, so he's still fired.

Or, maybe his brother was hoodwinked by the dealer and paid extra for the badge (he bought it used)...

The R badge is bad, but that dealer sticker is worse.  :P

Agree. They all are. The worst are the obnoxious dealer stickers on the back window of pickups.

If I end up with a Wrangler, I'm putting an M badge on it. If I get a Golf, "RUBICON".  ;D

Why? It was not that great of a show
