The wax I put on last week has held on surprisingly well inspite of the pollen and rain.....

Time to switch to a sealant...it does require a bit more upfront work - clay bar comes to mind - but once you apply it, it's supposed to last for up to 5 months!

I have a clay bar already, it's been a couple years since I've used it though.

I think the wax lasts 3-4 months- I apply it when it gets obvious the water is no longer beading. If I'm brutally honest, car maintenance isn't something I like doing. I do it out of necessity, and I do it properly when I tackle the tasks. But spending an entire afternoon washing, clay bar, waxing my car isn't something I want to do.

My car is six years old and I've waxed it exactly once. Well, I do hit it with the spray wax at the car wash once in a while, but I assume that doesn't count.  :D

My car looks perfectly fine to me. I've got about a thousand other things I'd rather do with my time than fuss over car cosmetics.

If you have a clay bar you are wasting your time with waxing....paint sealant is much easier to apply, nothing special required...do a bit of research, you will be surprised.

Great shot

Too bad the house number wasn't the MY of the car or engine displacement.

I agree: great pic.  Maybe 143 is the top speed of the car.  :)

Amazing pic!

Jaeger, that really is a gorgeous car.  8)

Thanks gents.  I'll try for a more significant street number next time!  ;D  That crease running along the side of the car is hard to capture - the camera sees it as flat most of the time - but with the sun directly overhead it cast just enough of a shadow to show up.  Damn, just needed to go a bit higher to get to the hp number:

Beautiful car!

Have you had a good experience with Hyundai?  I think I'll check out the Genisis this fall.

The Sonata I had for 5 years had exactly one issue that was kind of a fluky glitch.  Beyond that it was rock solid.  The Genesis is a whole nother level up, and so far I am liking it more with every drive.

Just drove the Boxster back from Florida.

Two days of interstates at about 130kph and a day in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The Boxster is an excellent long distance cruiser.

How was the noise level? I heard the 911's had high amounts of tire roar...does the Boxster suffer from the same?

I've got 20" Pirelli P zeros and they are a very soft compound.  My rears have a fair bit of wear on them at 22k and they are starting to get a little noisy depending on the pavement texture.

I don't find the car noisy at freeway speeds, but my Acura is definitely quieter.

I can't complain though as the car really sticks to the road.

That's actually not bad.  I just replaced the rears on my S2000 and they just turned 18k.  :P

Sounds like a fun trip!     8)
