Buyer from Washington state picked it and 7 others up on a transporter. He didn't even flinch at the price.
Crazy. Sucks for local buyers. The supply is going to dwindle, prices will keep going up...
This has happened before, in the late 90's. Dealers from Canada go nuts sending trucks down south, and US dealer go crazy buying here and shipping out. It floods the US market eventually and sends the prices there down which upsets the big US dealers. Just before the new year, I tried to reinstate my membership at a dealer auction in Washington state, I was flat out refused....no more Canadian dealer registrations were being accepted. This tells me the market there is getting swamped with Canadian imports and dealers.
Everything is online now making it so easy for US buyers, however, it's becoming more difficult for Canadian dealers to export. My local dealer auction sold close to 200 units last week to US buyers. Trucks are now being sold "ready to ship" meaning all recalls are done, letters of compliance completed, and in some cases already fitted with US instrument panels.
