I'd be interested in your comments on why there's such a difference in vehicle prices between Canada and the US.
For example, with prices taken from the companies' Canadian and US websites, a Toyota 4Runner Limited V8, MSRP: Canada - $52 595 CAD; US - $34 350 USD. Convert the US Price to Canadian dollars = $38 305. A difference (Canadian surcharge?) of $14 000 CAD. In both cases, the vehicle is made in Japan.
Second example: Acura MDX Base, MSRP: Canada - $53 730 CAD; US - $39 995 USD. Convert the US Price to Canadian dollars = $45 178. A difference of $8 600 CAD. In both cases, the vehicle is made in Canada.
If I'm opening an old wound (i.e. if there's a discussion thread on this elsewhere) please let me know.
