Top-of-the-line Mitsubishi RVR GT is well-equipped and economical with a class-leading warranty, but performance is underwhelming.

This car is the same price as an equivalent CX-5, which will have much better resale value, is significantly larger, handles much better, has a much more extensive dealer network, has better fuel economy, and has similar straight line performance. You would have to be a chump to pick the RVR.

Not sure how this compares to the Juke.  Wouldn't the Rogue be more comparative since the CX-5 and CRV are listed as conparables?

The Juke is built on a sub-compact and it shows.  No adult can practically sit in the back seats and there is no cargo space with the seats up.

true, but it is a fun little vehicle to drive...i enjoyed the test drive in the one i took out, but yes, it is small...if you don't need the space though, and were thinking of a subcompact car, but wanted a slightly higher ride, AWD and Turbo power, take one for a spin.  :)

Wow, that Juke R looks like someone took a bunch of random parts from random cars and glued them all together. Was the designer blind or did they get an elephant to design it for them?

No, they just had to fit the entire running gear out of a Nissan GT-R under a Juke....

If by the "same" price you mean the RVR is $1650 less then yes they are the Same price.
RVR GT 28998 plus leather and Nav = 32498
CX 5 GT 32750 plus tech pack(nav and HID) = 34 145

Heck the RVR GT @ 28995 is still way less then the mid level CX 5 @ 31150.

If i was forced to buy one I'de take the little Mitsu over the rainbow unicorn fart drive hype machine that is the CX 5 any day.

A delta of less than $2k for a loaded model is pretty close IMO. But you're right, I shouldn't have said the same.

Just curious, why would you pick the Mitsu?

Well, I drove both and let's face it both power trains suck.  I'de take the Mitsu since it's combo engine and tranny is a proven design, who knows how well skyactiv will hold up long term. Handling and steering feel are one of those things that get talked about by reviewers but average driver don't notice or for the most part care about( unless it is truly horrible ). I prefer the styling inside and out of the RVR, the CX 5 is a little busy for me. CX 5 is a fine car but I do think the RVR gets over looked and written off too soon. One last point the prices I gave were MSRP and when was the last time anyone payed that for a Mitsu?

That's what I was thinking too.  Lack of demand for RVR --> better bargain at the dealership. I like the rather conservative design of RVR, but the engine is just too weak for its size IMO.

if i was looking at it, i'd probably opt for the standard and a more base model... which i have to say seems like quite a bargin.

did get a bit confused by the SE or ES badging that was mentioned in the article (said they were both the same price in one spot, and different afterwards), but seems like if you wanted a smaller fuel efficient standard transmission CUV, this would be a pretty good deal.

add in that warranty, and i have to say it deserves a look. i may actually even take a look myself for the misses.

Unless you drive your cars into the ground the price difference is probably a wash when you factor in resale values.

yeah.  and for some reason, local Mitsu salesguy seem to think the Mitsu is a top tier japanese brand (like honda) and didn't want to haggle at all..

Same 300km to the north.  They act like every car on lot is made of gold, including their horrendously overpriced used cars.

You should see the travesty at the dealer on 97st and Yellowhead, now I get the dealer has to make a profit, the prices on their used cars are so out of whack its like they have never heard of kijjiji, autotrader or the canadian black book.
