Just found out my brother-in-law's mother passed away.   He and my SIL are expecting their first kid in 6 months.  Sad to know she would never meet her grandchild.

:( That's tough. Right after my sister was born, my grandfather had a brain tumor. My dad took us all to see him (overseas) and so my grandfather was able to interact with my sister (a 6 month old baby) during his lucid periods.

My thoughts are with your brother in law.

Well, Dr says he agrees with my wife. I'm run down and "need to rest". I told him I will after I take the van in for seatbelts to be installed tomorrow as I usually drop off my vehicles and walk the 2 km back home or walk it out to pick them up. He says no, take a cab or get a ride. Geeeezzz....

Please pay attention to him, and do your best to avoid making your wife a widow.  Stop being a stubborn old fack.  Just saying.   :-*

That's when your glad you have a beater, start to pass them, ride the line, makes dumb drivers so nervous.  Or you can always pass her, and test the ABS system on your car!  :rofl2:

Looks like I'm not having much luck getting a vehicle from Ontario.  Found another car that I'm interested in getting, but since I'm out of Province, a lease or finance at the dealership is completely off the table.......cash purchase only.  They are telling me I need an Ontario driver's license.   Is this an Ontario thing?   ::)

That's very weird. I bought a used car in Ontario from a Kia dealership and had no trouble getting it financed. Also bought a used Mazda from a Mazda dealer in Quebec and again had no issues.

Very weird indeed, Oliver.  The dealership emailed me today saying that if I wanted to get financing I'd have to go up there physically to "meet" them before they could do a credit app?  Seriously, WTF?  That doesn't even make an ounce of sense.  Who knew that buying something could be so painful.   ::)

Decided to go for a cruise along the lake and around the vineyards on Sat.  Speed limit is 80km/h.  I come up on a train of cars going 50-60km/h.  As the cars make their passes, I see what the holdup is:  Some old guy in a brand new C7, cruising along doing 50-60km/h.  FFS....dear old people: If a speed limit of 80 scares you, stay off the street and take the bus.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

I agree, I see countless convertibles with tops up around here on a perfect day. I guess they are worried about getting their hair(s) out of place.  ::) Mostly women....on mobiles phones.

I had to wear a hat when I had the roof off my Targa or I'd be incinerated. I burn way, way too easy.

I'm not much of a hat guy, but it's a must in a convertible.  There was one night a couplle of weeks ago that the top of my head got cold while driving without a hat. Most of the hats I have now are freebies from vendors, but I have to find a good one for driving.

Though recently IQ got me some killer SPF60+ stuff and it seems to work.  It's crazy pricey though.

We've been using spf60 lately in a foam spray and it's made for babies.  ;D. Not sure what brand and I just looked and can't find it, but I think it's just J&J.  Seems to work well though as I haven't burned at all yet and lots of open top time.

I had a babies SPF100 at one time.  But after IQ worked for a dermatologist, he said the difference between a good SPF50 (or so) and 100 was negligible.  So we stopped using the really high ones.  Plus he said the lower ones were better for your skin.  Something to so with the chemicals required to get to 100.

Cost of running a hot tube
Saw an energy guide on a tub, if it is 60° f outside and the tub water temp is 102° it would cost $9.68 per month with a price of 5.1¢ per kwhr.
On our last bill our cost was about 20¢ per kW so we would paying about $40 per month and since 3/4 of the year it is below 60° the true cost would be more then that  :'(

Interesting. We keep ours at about 95° and have the filter cycle timed to go on at night only when the rates are lowest. I turn it up to 100-103° about an hour before we're going to use it - which is maybe once a week. Installed the tub last year and I didn't really notice any big change in electricity bill, I am sure it's costing me something, but I would have noticed $40 a month.

I am sure the type and size of the tub have something to do with it as well.

Electricity aside the thing is a PITA. Testing the water (couple times a week), adding chemicals, cleaning the tub, cleaning the filter, etc...all things I'd rather not spend my time doing. This reminds me actually, I am suppose to go buy a new filter on Saturday :(
