It was Road and Track. My bad. Fairly glowing I'd say.

It's a Chevy and a first year car (well was). It's not going to run flawlessly.

Again, hardly the first car the broke down while being tested.

But a blown motor?  On a new car?   :shake:

By no means good, man. But I can search and find multiple examples of similar or worse stuff happening to new Porsche's, Ferrari's, you name it. Stuff happens in the first production year of a car. This is not limited to the Corvette.

My tranny blew up on my brand new WRX. Stuff happens. My MIL's tranny blew on her brand new RX350. Stuff happens. My wife's uncle's Bentley GT was a nightmare. Stuff happens.

This is why I follow the rule of never buying a first year of any car.

Yes, I'm a Corvette slappy but let's not pretend this is indicative of Corvette. It's certainly really bad timing.

What we've learned here:  don't let Vman's family near your new car, or they'll break it?

Problems can be fixed.  The real problem is lack of knowledgeable dealers in this country.  With volumes so low nobody will know what their doing on the tech end of it.

I do not think the Vette will suffer from this issue at all.
Lighten up Francis.....

I haven't heard that at all about Corvettes.
