You know the Prius gas-electric hybrid as a four-door hatchback/fastback but it will soon be joined by other Prius-badged vehicles with different bodystyles, reports Paul Williams who previews the new 'Prius family.'

Certainly a step forward in the history of the automobile and it seems just around the corner in terms of timing.  Make mine a "C".

I still wish they would make an all out high efficiency model along the lines of VW's 1 liter car.  This would be extremely interesting with Prius hybrid technology.

Cheers,
John Meyer

The C model should be great success in Canada. We like small cars and with a lower price and even better fuel economy, the Prius C should be the top selling Hybrid here.

I thought there was supposed to be a 7 seater.  Did some "focus group" kill that idea?

That was just rumor after first seeing the first images.

I suspect 7 passenger would be too much for the small hybrid drivetrain.

..VC......AC   DC................the V looks cool and if priced right could set the cat amongst the pidgeons of the Mazda 5,Ford C max and varieties thereof.......

the C would seem to be the Canadian top seller...but time will tell, personally I'd take the V fer Van if the price spread is close enuf....

  Batteries R US?
Time is to stop everything happening at once

Like the c.  After Nissan's creative lights on the Juke, I don't see why the c couldn't keep it's funky look.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

Just wondering about the fuel economy numbers posted.  If the average fuel economy is 40 m/US g, the conversion to Imperial g would be 48 (i.e 48m/Imp g).  That converts to about 4.9 l/100 km, not 5.9 as stated.  Yes-no?

I live in the Lower 48 but think like a Brit or Canadian, so make mine a 'C' please in the concept's teal blue colour.
