Said goodbye to the Spitfire today, on to it's new home in Pennsylvania. This will sound weird, but I'll miss it's smell the most. Old British roadsters have a certain smell that I've grown up around, when the car is in the garage the whole garage smells like it should, like my dad and grandfathers garages :) . But being young and paying down a mortgage means I've gotta keep my priorities, plus now there's a free spot in the garage for the next project :)

Car sold on Ebay for more than I would have advertised it locally, and had lots of interest...The market for the old British stuff appears very strong.

It showed very nicely in pics .... they all do.  :rofl2:    Old British cars look 10x better than they drive/run I have found.

So what's up next?   You must have something lurking.  :)

Steve, I'll somewhat agree with that. A well sorted Brit is loads of fun to drive, but you've gotta know what to expect...Some people hate it, some love it, I am definitely the former. Mrs Firm on the other hand, who has no issue with older cars (loves the t/a), can't feel safe in a British car.

I don't have anything in mind for the next project right now, but I've been scoping all the usual places. I'll hold out until I can find something interesting for a really good price. Till then I'll keep working on the T/A (which needs some interior stuff). If I get bored I'll pull the MGB out of storage and play with it...It would benefit from some use.

I've been in the passenger seat in that car and it's certainly one with the road, literally.  :rofl2:

Best suited to circa 1960 Britain than the GTA.  Much more suited to my rural roads.

Let's see .... you've got 4 cars on the road presently.  That's a handful $$$$.

Again, fabulous colour and very artistic car.

Congrats on the sale man. It'll be weird rolling by your house on weekends unannounced and NOT seeing you doing something to the Spitfire.  :)

It was a great looking car. Good colour too. Enjoy your profits and find another project for your talents.

Thanks guys :)
Snowy, I felt the same way, I am impressed that it sold so fast, sometimes it can take months to find the right buyer so I kinda figured it was going to be around for awhile longer.

A great car indeed.  Also remember yanks are getting much more for their dollar up here at the moment.  The cross border shopping has reversed direction.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...
