Regular cab trucks get old so fast. There's a reason they are rarely seen in the wild.

Outside of a company/fleet truck, I do not think there would be a high demand of them. No storage or room for people would get old very quick.

The truck pictured doesn't appear to have an 8-foot box.

Regular cab, short box.  :shake:

Until you start commuting in a deuce and a half, you cannot pull our mancards Mr. Subaru  ;D

This makes me chuckle as I once knew a guy who commuted in a Duece and a half. Actually 3 of them. He had one registered and insured but told me after so many miles he'd swap the plates and the insurance company never looked all that close anyways so.............. :rofl2:

I remember one night he pulled into my driveway in a snowstorm and man I thought a helicopter was landing in front of the house from the noise and extra lights he had on it!  :rofl2:

... if I were a single guy looking to spend $30K for something a little different to bomb around in, this would be high on my list.

Absolutely! None of the three regular cab trucks I had when I was younger were as awesome as the one in the article. Well, the '91 Power Ram 150 4x4 (318 V8 with 4-speed manual) comes pretty close. The big BFG T/A KO tires helped the cool factor. As did the lift kit.

Outside of a company/fleet truck, I do not think there would be a high demand of them. No storage or room for people would get old very quick.

Whaaaatt??? As long as you fit in the demographic above (aka single guy) then you have all the storage you need. The lady of the moment goes in the passenger seat, the beer goes in coolers in the back. What more do you need????  ;D

Guys, what am I missing? When I go to ramtruck.ca, there is no "Express" submodel, just ST, SXT, SLT, HFE,  outdoorsman, Sport,  then the big money models.

Would this just be a regular cab short box Sport?

Kris gets it.
I just wrote my reivew on this truck last night, so I am kinda sick of thinking/writting about it, but bottom line is if you fit the demographic this truck is awesome! My experience with regular cabs was limited to a 92 B2200 shop truck back in highschool and a 2013 F-150 press truck, both were terribly cramped and I hated driving them. My experience with this truck changed my opinion of them.

Is a $70,000 loaded up luxo truck nicer, damn right it is! But you cannot buy a cooler or faster truck (new) for around $30K. Even without the rabates at 37K this is a decent buy. If I were in the market for an affordable truck at this price point I'd probably be comparing to Colorado/Canyon twins, and as someone close to the target demographic I can tell you that this truck wins on cool factor alone.

I drove this truck everywhere last week and loved it.

You'll need to select ST, then reg cab and 2x4. Then find the "25C" package -$1000 (which adds the body colored trim and a couple other incidental items). Then you'll be able to find the Express package - $2000 in the options list.

The three trucks I had, 84 Ranger, 86 Toyota 1 Tonne, 86 F150 work truck were regular cab long beds. Only the F150 was a 4x4.

That config is still the only one that I think looks right. Short bed crew cabs are all hat and no cattle.

25C is the Express package, and the $2000 option is the Black Express package which bundles black wheels and other details with some options. If you just choose 25C you still get the body color grille and bumpers.

That's a lot of badass for $27k. The only option I added was the 3.55 rear end.

So much want...that.  I'd prefer colour on the wheels other than black - painted silver even...otherwise, awesome.  Who cares if it doesn't have the big box or 4 doors, it'd still make a fun toy.  Hopefully people buy these and in 10 yrs they'll be dirt cheap and a good buy.  Maybe even in 3 yrs.  Now...wonder if they'll offer it in a different colour...maybe a lil' red. With stacks, and a step side  ;D ...time to whip out the photoshop. Anyone?

Wheels are silver if you don't get the Black Express package.

Reminds me of my old Eliminator I had back in the day.  Same as this one, just different wheels.

Had a giant Rubbermaid box in the back with a lock for storage.  Worked fine for a 20-something single guy.

Lotsa fun, was a bit tail happy & did have to replace the Eagle GT+4's a few times....

I like the idea of a truck like this as a second vehicle - something that's fun to drive but is also useful for home projects. Alas, there is nothing a truck could do for me that I couldn't do with a cheap utility trailer and a hitch, so at that point it just becomes an expensive toy.

Thanks everyone! I found it, and built it with the 5.7 and 8 speed, skipped the blackout package, got the power package, RAMBOX, bluetooth, posi rear, in dark blue and its 32k. What a deal!

I agree....it looks great...now lower that thing on some bigger rims and tires and that would be a fun piece of kit, but again, 2wd truck, no thanks as a utility vehicle.
