Land Rover New Discovery Sport, because fack reliability!  ;D

You know, I would be tempted to at least have a look if the closest dealer wasn't 400 kms away.

Did you know that there is a Jaguar/Land Rover/Porsche showroom at the Champlain Mall? I believe that Steele Auto Group is looking at brining at least Jaguar and Land Rover to Moncton at some point.

Hasn't Moncton suffered enough? ;D

Hardly............They don't have a Mercedes dealership.

Actually, I just heard yesterday that the SJ Mercedes Benz dealer is opening a Moncton store. Construction this summer/fall with a 2017 opening.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Interesting! Seems ambitious. No other luxury brand has more than one dealer in NB (not counting Lincoln and Cadillac of course).

Anyone that likes visiting their dealer needs an Aston Martin.  Doug DeMuro bought a used Aston and he's had it for 14 days but it's been in his possession for only five of them...

I'd love to know what my dealer has billed Mercedes Benz in warranty claims for my ML over the past 4 1/2 years. looking back it wouldn't surprise me is it was 15-20K. The multiple blind spot warning system replacements alone would be over $6,000

I don't know if it's still the same but MB used to pay their dealers pretty much retail for warranty work.

Last I heard they did.  Six grand alone for the blind spot system repairs?  Sheesh.

Our 2010 Fusion was one of the first cars to have the blind sport with cross traffic alert  and over 5 years later has not broken down once.

So, the annual January failure of the blind spot warning system came two days late this year on Feb 2. ::)

I'm off to the dealer in an hour so they can "have a quick look"

What's wrong with the 4Runner Limited again?  ;D

I know you hate the maw on the Lexus but the 4Runner is quite luxurious and looks awsome. Plus bulletproof.

The left sensor is gone and the case on the right one is showing signs of splitting  so they are going to replace both. Also replacing the wiring harness as the connectors seem a little loose to the tech. There are additional sensor covers available now( TSB maybe?) designed to add more protection from slush/salt/sand  etc etc. .....I guess we'll find out if they work come next January. :-\

Oh, and the sensor brackets need to be replaced as well.......................... They are stretched and loose from have sensors snapped in and out of them too many times.  ;D

4Runner "Trail Edition" for the best value.  But then this thread would die on the vine.

It looks good except for that super duper cheap silver plastic all over the center dash and console that is so early 2000.

Back to the same old thing.....Logically I know should be driving something Japanese but my gut reaction is always "I just like the German stuff better"  When I get into my almost 5 year old ML after test driving a new Murano, RX350, MDX etc etc I think to myself "This feels better."

Maybe I just have to resign myself to the expense of an extended warranty and trading before it expires.

Maybe your ML was just a lemon
You should just get something you are happy with

I feel the exact same way, I am after trying several different kinds of car but nothing mainstream compares to my 335.  And I know I'm not going to find anything as satisfying but I am trying to get in the ballpark at least.  Also the major hit I am going to take on a trade is holding me back from getting something different as well.  I just get an uneasy feeling something terrible is going to go wrong with it all the time.

+1 Agreed. The numbers and stats might all make sense, but if you don't like it, it's not worth any sum of money.

Made that expensive mistake going from the BMW X3 to the Mazda3. Learned my lesson.

I think partially understanding the requirements and engineering of German cars helps big time with the ownership experience. Our BMWs have been quite reliable; the X5 may have been a Montagsauto but the X3 and 3er have been stellar on reliability. And so less frustrating to drive......

Going from a luxury CUV to a Mazda economy car is a far cry different than going from an ML to an RX or similar.
