I love this bike, but I'd have a hard time choosing it over the Duc 899 for that price difference.

What's going on with everyone's photos these days, everyone leave vignette turned up to 11?  ;) ;D

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

RE: The price difference - I think I'd cough it up were I in the market. I've ridden both recently and the Duc is just somehow "less" than this one. But that's the most subjective of subjective measures. In reality the Duc is clearly the better buy.

PS... back on topic, I agree, I can't imagine choosing the MV over the Pants-a-golly! 899.

Between $15K to $18K my three bikes of choice would be the GSXR-1000, Hayabusa, or BMW S1000RR.

Too many Rs on the S1000R.  I like a tiny bit of comfort with my bikes, thankyouverymuch.

Then go for the Hayabusa. It's actually a pretty comfy bike for something with 200hp that can go from 100-300km/h so fast it seems to defy the laws of physics. The 1300 is heavier than the pure sport liter bikes so it's not the twisty road demon the gixxer or the BMW is, but it's still really fast and can be realistically ridden cross-country.

I'd take the ZX14R over the Busa.

And for my $18K...I'm going home with one of these:

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
