I can't help it, the menu uses oz!!   I couldn't even finish it.  Had too much of the awesome rolls, and wanted dessert, coffee...  Having some for lunch today!  ;D

When I read CHOP, first thing I thought of was IHOP. So this is Canadian House of Pancakes? And why would anyone order a 14oz steak at a pancake place?

But then I clicked on the link and figured it out. :)

I had to take my Mom to a bank appointment today, decided to grab lunch afterwards.  Harvey's was just up the street... sounds good, haven't been there in ages.
Holey crap... might be the worst burger i've had in my life... rubbery "meat" with what tasted like artificial meat flavouring, a gummy bun that stuck to the roof of my mouth... it was gawd awful.
Their fries also suck.

Spoiled I guess from recent really good burgers at Burgers Priest and Five Guys.  Still, seems like Harvey's has gone WAYY downhill...

Seconded!
Gnocchi are pretty simple from an ingredient standpoint, but hard to get 'just right'.  We have made a couple batches in the past that just disintegrated in the pot....

Yeah, Gnocci took me a few attempts to get it just right.  Preparing the Gnocci is a pretty long process, or at least it is for me, but so worth it in the end.

^^^     First time I made them they were perfecto...never managed to make good ones since...been close with some ricotta gnocchi but never again have I got potato ones right.

Favorite here:    Cook a Magret de Canard in a saute pan , cook the gnocchi as usual and drain.   While the duck is setting drain off most of the duck fat, add some fresh sage leaves to the pan. As they sizzle add the gnocchi and some frozen  or parboiled fresh peas.   cook for a minute or two so the gnocchi absorb some of the duck and sage flavour. Slice the duck breast, serve and there you go.

Can you post the recipe please, I'd love to have a go at making this.

Had a late lunch last Friday here:

Best. Burger. Ever.

They use black Angus 1855 beef, making for a tasty and tender burger.

I had mine done medium-rare, topped with:
- caramelized onions
- grilled mushrooms

The bun was a homemade brioche style bun.

Mmmmmm.    :lick:

^ Sounds good, how does it compare to other gourment burger places?  Not sure which places are in Montreal.  But there is Heroes, South Street Burger, the Works around here...

I recently tried On The Bun here is Mississauga. The meat was decent and maybe small vs other but the bun portion was plain white and not a good match vs other gourmet burgers of recent.
They provide a non bun version on fries that I prefer, that they call stacked.

I have tried several.  Most are good, some are great.  I would rank Minced at the top of the list:

Le Gourmet Burger   (http://www.legourmetburger.com/)
Very good to excellent burger and reasonable prices.  One of the top places in the area.

Burger de Ville   (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Burger-de-ville/201279881030)
Another amazing place, well 2 places now.  One is a few minutes from my home, while the other is right downtown on St. Laurent.

mBrgr   (http://www.mbrgr.com/)
High end burgers with many trimmings in a trendy downtown location.  Nice but overpriced, IMHO.
Might not get burgers less than medium or possibly medium rare.

Mr. Steer   (http://mistersteer.com/)
A Montreal classic.  Like most of the others above, they will make your burger to your desired level of "doneness".
Good prices and friendly staff.
Have to try their "suzy q" fries.

Burger Bar Crescent   (http://www.montrealburger.com/en/)
High price and bad service, at least when I went.
Can't recommend, especially when Gourmet Burger is one block west and Mr. Steer is about three blocks east.
