#lawyered is really starting to sound like #douchebag man. Lay off.
I was called to the bar around the time that it debuted as a "thing" on How I Met Your Mother...*sigh* after getting called, everyone was taking pictures, posting on Facebook, "#Lawyered".  I did not partake in such things, and so now I am having my turn :)

The point was to suggest that a CVT can be desirable in an expensive, luxury vehicle.

Toyota's CVTe, aka the PSD  (Power Split Device/fixed ratio), act, to the novice, somewhat similar to a standard CVT, which have infinite ratios.

Consequently they cannot be compared to "rubber" band driven snowmobile type CVTs found in todays cars.

The hate on CVT's on this website is mindblowing.

I bet that 90% of the armchair critics here have never actually driven a CVT, and are relying on negative reviews to create their own opinions.

CVT'S ARE INCREDIBLY SMOOTH.  THAT IS THE POINT OF A CVT.  THEY HAVE A PLACE IN THIS WORLD, AND WILL BECOME MORE AND MORE COMMONPLACE.  DO THEY WORK WELL IN 'SPORTY' VEHICLES?  PROBABLY NOT.  DO THEY WORK GREAT IN VEHICLES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO 'WAFT' YOU ALONG IN COMFORT WHILE DEVOURING MILES?  OF COURSE.

I HAVE...and can personally say I don't want a CVT. They are smooth but weird to drive and I just can't handle chain noises. Now, having said that, Toyota surprised me with the e-CVT in the Prius, that gearbox is quiet and smooth, it didn't feel like a CVT at all.

I have driven several.  CVTs do have a place in the world.  That place is somewhere other than my driveway.
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

This is a depressingly blah car...Your mention of this tranny coming with a torque converter makes me think this is a regular transmission rather than a (clutch-less standard shift)... The thing that has stuck with me most about Honda products is a new 2000 or so model Civic my daughter drove home once from the Honda dealer she was working for a few years back..It was a cheapo car, and when I closed the door I thought of a tin breadbox..What a sh-tbox.. One of the noisiest, harshest vehicles I ever drove....However she bought a new Acura RDX a few years back with the turbo 4 ... Loved that car....apparently this is still a noisy, unrefined little car...at 40 grand..Yoiks!   Jack

Well, this 3 day review hasn't even uncovered what I found out in 5 minutes and a mile from the dealership. What with huge orange BRAKE signs lighting up on the dash for no reason I could discern, and the pesestrian alert going off AFTER the little old lady had actually crossed the road, I'd had enough. Turned it round abd drove back to the dealership, where the accelerator failed to respond, and then crawling up the steep driveway the engine bucked and shuddered.

Add to that a frenzied throbbing engine, and it's a car only Honda/Acura fanboys buying sight unseen can justify later on forums like this. And the salesman knew it. Drive the V6! Oh joy, superb engine let down by toy 9 speed transmission, lethargic chassis response, and wheelspin. The SH-AWD removed the wheelspin.

Pluses? It is damn quiet.

I didn't find the V6 AWD anything like that.  It's quite nice.

If you follow close it does flash BRAKE at you indeed.  So don't do that?

I'll mention more on my wrapup

Would be great to get your rating on the real meat and potatoes version; the V6 AWD by April.

I'm pretty sure you can adjust the sensitivity of the Forward Collision Warning system.  I know I can on my Odyssey.

This reminds me of my friend who has a brand new Escalade, he could not attach to his trailer because the rear collision sensors would stop the truck abruptly while backing up to the trailer. After some time he did figure out how to bypass the system but man what a pain in the butt. All these electronic nannies I'm not so sure....

personally I don't mind if your seat vibrates to get your attention but when a vehicle takes over control of the steering wheel and starts flashing bright lights no thanks...
