Here, at least, there's a fair bit of work involved in getting bottles exchanged, you have to go to redemption centres (not grocery stores like in QC) so at least the kids/parents have to go through some effort for the reward.

However, if my 2 bags in the garage get full before someone comes, I'll take it to the redemption centre since I need the space, and there's a place like 1.5-2km away now.

Nah, Oakville baby!

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

I saw a couple panhandlers with signs "working" an intersection when going to downtown Kingston a few days ago.

I haven't given anything to beggars since the day I was in a local motorcycle shop and the guy I always saw asking for spare change outside my favourite pub came in and bought a motorcycle worth more than mine.

At least buskers can be entertaining.

On my way home, on Lake Shore Rd in Toronto at the intersection of Strachan Avenue, there's been a homeless guy there panhandling ever since I moved in five years ago. He's a scraggly looking dude probably in his sixties, and looks genuinely poor. However, he has a wheelchair he's in 90% of the time in the winter, but when it's warm, he switches to a bicycle. I don't understand...

In Vancouver many many intersections have these people.
And some cretins think I hate cars.
