Did the same to one of my BBS wheels and I bought a replacement. Whys is this even a question?

Because a scuff isn't usually a good enough reason to buy a new wheel.  They can be fixed.  No point in throwing away money needlessly...unless you have so much and don't care about money.

Although I'm not sure why NoTo has to be the lackey for his boss's stupidity.  Or is this just more a$$ kissing?  ;D
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

If you can afford a Tesla, you buy a new wheel.

I would get an estimate from a couple of shops with excellent reputations. Then I would decide.

I'm curious though, why are you doing the legwork for your boss?

Clearly he's the Bosses designated "car guy" and came to him first for an opinion.  I know I enjoy it when someone in my circle comes to ask for advice about something I'm passionate about.

Yeah, I'm the "go ask about cars" guy for a bunch of my friends/family - it's annoying sometimes, but overall positive.  I'm also asked "are you going to climb Everest" at least once a week.   ::)

^   I would guess that the two answers are:   Miata  and not this year.

Got a quote for $175, sent it off to bossman, and got a response of "thanks"

I'm assuming he's going to replace the rim  :rofl2:  As JM pointed out, I do like being the designated car guy.

Less than 12% of the cost to repair vs replace seems the way to go to me, but one man's $1500 is another's $175. I guess it's all relative to his income and considering what he's driving.

Update:

Bossman just came in, said the rim was repaired in 3 hours (on his driveway) and cost $150.  He (a discerning rich guy) is apparently thrilled with the results (I don't know where he parked today - I went down to grab a pic but his car isn't in his spot).

Since he was expecting to pay $1,500, and I found him this guy who did it for 1/10th of the price, he just gave me $500.  SWEET!

...and then said he's "gonna drive like a maniac now since repairs are so cheap!"  He has a great sense of humour!

Thanks to all who suggested that the rims could be repaired!  I shan't be sharing my $500 with you :P

I'm in Ontario - no Safeway.  Walmart bags work :)

Dude.  Fork those 5 bills over.  Consider it an entry fee for moving into my city.   :)

This place we picked out is literally across the street from our last place!  ...plus, aren't you on the wrong side of the Hanlon?

Nah, the $ is going straight into Lady Noto's ring fund, where all my money seems to be going  >:(

While I understand my error in assuming that because Safeway is not in the GTA that, it surely cannot be elsewhere in Ontario, I shall not be driving 15+ hours to Thunder Bay to visit those Safeway locations :)
