Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Nice Jaeger.  I too would pick the V6 over the V8.  The engine center of gravity would move further forward in the engine bay with the V8, which would lend itself to more under steer than the V6.  Now, what would be interesting is if Hyundai developed a twin turbo V6...  Power of the V8 with handling of the V6.
i too would pick the V6...i like the V8 as much as the next guy, but i think the sweet spot is the V6...it still has something like 330 hp and with AWD and all the great improvements with the current gen version, is a really compelling value for a premium product...fast forward a couple of years and drop the V6TT in it???...

I have to say I'm pretty excited to see the upcoming Genesis-branded products take shape.  Likely a smaller sedan than the current Genesis sedan (probably slotting in size between the 3 / A4 / C and the 5 / A6 / E), a sport coupe and a luxury SUV.  I think we're going to see some really impressive machines.

Thanks.  I'm liking it better each time I drive it.  And here's a nice profile pic:

And one showing off the nice new Genesis rear badge:

Two month update - and it's all sunshine and roses.  ;D Mostly.  >:(

First the good - which is just about everything that I thought was good, still is good or even better.  The handling really continues to impress - an element I had not fully appreciated in the first days but this thing really eats up curves very well for a car its size.

The engine is smooth, strong and makes REALLY nice sounds when you push it.  Otherwise it stays whisper quiet.  Far preferable to the endless droning of fake engine noise piped through the speakers of some other vehicles.

Fuel economy on the highway is better than expected and around town is as bad as expected.

Seats are fantastic, front and back.

So.... yesterday I am driving around - take a one hour highway ride - come back home and park and lock the gar in the garage.  I go back out about two hours later to grab something from the trunk and notice that the side mirrors didn't automatically unfold and flash the Bat Signal on the ground.  Uh oh.  Next the door won't respond to the push button unlock.  Then I can't get the fob to unlock doors or trunk.  Dead battery in the fob?  I wait for my wife to come home an hour later and try her fob - same thing.  I call Hyundai roadside assistance and they have someone at my door in 15 min.  I walk out through the garage to meet the guy and the mirrors unfold.  Doors unlock.  Car fires up perfectly just like it always did.  Nothing apparently wrong except that it had been resolutely ignoring me for the previous 3 hours.  ???

I'm a bit early for the first oil change but taking it to the dealer this morning to have them look it over.

Another great photo

It was mad that you went for only one hour. It wants a real road trip with long miles. If you can't do it, I'll be happy to do it for you. You can thank me later.  ;D

Was the fob in your pocket close to a wallet or cell phone?

Edit:. Looks like you tried the unlock /lock buttons on the fob and it didn't work.

FKC?

^^^ - fob was in my and at the time.

Service said it threw a code for low charge on the battery, which they tested to confirm.  Not surprising since this car sat for a loooong time on the lot.  Battery replaced under warranty and hopefully that's that.

I've been going to the dealership for years, so I'm not surprised, - but it's worth mentioning that the service was prompt, courteous, professional.  No fancy scones and no obsequious sucking-up but I can live without both.

Awesome.  That's the thing with all these modern technology features...  they need sufficient battery voltage to operate and are very sensitive to weak car batteries.  Pretty simple fix.

Well it was a 2015 - they could have had it for like a year and a half if they brought it in late 2014.

What's the date of manufacture vs when you bought it?

I'd have to double-check the door jam but pretty sure it was like Nov 2014 build and for sure it was an April 2016 purchase.  Not sure how long between the car leaving the factory in Korea and arriving at the dealer - but that's two winters' worth of sitting with not a lot of driving.
