http://insideevs.com/firefighter-responding-to-scene-of-accident-i-would-definitely-prefer-an-electric-vehicle-over-ice/

Quote
Firefighter Jason Belton of the Reno Fire Department told KOLO that there’s always apprehension when approaching a high-voltage electrical system, but noted that he’d definitely prefer responding to an accident involving an electric over a gas car:

“Absolutely, there is always the apprehension just because of the thought for the potential of the high voltage shock.”

“I would definitely prefer an electric vehicle over a gas powered vehicle, because we remove the fire hazard with the gasoline itself.”

Belton added that he hopes to see more electric cars on the road because that would make the job of first responders much safer:

“I feel that would make our job as first responders a lot safer specifically from the fire hazard.”

Tesla Model X P90D Ludicrous vs Audi R8 V10 Spyder 1/4 Mile Drag Racing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2h8bomtDqs

Speaking of Audi v Tesla, I was coming back from the store tonight on the outskirts of town, and an Audi followed me out of the lot.  The back road was empty so we u-turned and gave it from a roll, the Audi dropped 10 feet back within a second, but was pulling that back slightly by the time we reached the next light, the owner thumbed up and when he went past I looked but couldn't make out the model #, but it said "V8 GT" on the back, it was a 4 door sedan like the Model S, similar size too.

Oh yea?  On fire..all by itself.   ;)

Don't you know anything?  That's just Tesla's Incendiary Mode.  :rofl2:  It's what happens after Ludicrous Mode.  ;D

You're allowed to do it when you're a Tesla driver racing against a 4 door Audi V8 GT (it's one of Audi's new fictitious models), c'mon, you should know that Wing, ha, ha, ha!

From C&D: "After back-to-back zero-to-120-mph runs, the Tesla’s battery heats up and gets stingy with the electrons. Loud cooling fans kick on, and the acceleration tapers off. To extract the best times, we waited through a lengthy cool-down period. "

On that youtube channel, he covers the reduced performance of successive 1/4 miles.
His best time was 11.6 and that slowly edged up to 11.9 after a half dozen runs.

The youtube channel also has comments from drivers of other cars like the GTR who marvel that the Tesla doesn't suffer from the same issues other high performance cars do with successive launches, namely, clutch and other wear.

That's generally what you do when speed increases, increase the gap between yourself and the douche that wants to race.

CR is unimpressed with Model X, or so they say, because the Model X is an SUV, where S stands for Super  :skid:

Tesla not standing behind their product.   :nono:

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2016/05/ghost-in-the-electric-machine-man-sues-over-possessed-tesla-model-x/

Read on to see what a turd this is!!  All for only $162,000 USD!!

Lyon, who already owns a Tesla Roadster and a Model S, paid $162,000 for the vehicle. Soon after, strange things began to happen.

“The doors do some weird, wicked things,” Lyon told Courthouse News. “If you get in and slide sideways and accidentally tap the brake, the driver’s side door slams shut on your leg. That’s not a very nice thing to have happen to you.”

The automatic doors also slammed shut on his wife, Lyon claimed, and opened unexpectedly, causing damage to the doors and items inside his garage. In parking lots, the doors open into other vehicles, he claimed.

The gripes outlined in the lawsuit don’t end there. According to Lyon, the autonomous Autopilot feature swerves the vehicle into other lanes during rainstorms, the self-parking feature doesn’t work 90 percent of the time, and the touchscreen freezes for no reason.

Allegedly, Tesla Motors was unable to fix the vehicle, so Lyon filed suit to get his purchase amount and registration fee back.
