Keep in mind that the "Individual" paint BMW offers in Canada is limited to a few colours. I think you can also pay more and get your choice of many more colors.
Yes, that's the case. I went with one of the regular "Individual" colors on my M3, but others could pay even more and ask for colors that are even more expensive. Each of those latter requests have to go to head office in Germany, and could be approved or not, and could have different prices. It's actually ///M Division that handles the "Individual" requests. You can ask for other modifications besides paint color. You can really spend a fortune customizing.
Originally, I considered ordering a non-regular Individual color, and got it approved by headquarters. The challenge with those unusual colors is it's hard to see what it looks like on that particular car. And sometimes a color that looks great on one model doesn't look great on another. Since I had only seen pictures of one car with that color on the net, I went with one of the regular Individual colors that I got to see in person (on the same car).
