This old car addiction of mine...at least I usually stuck with old American iron, until today.

Picked up what could be the lowest mileage example C2 Audi 5000 in existence. It's a 1980 5000 Turbo, 31,000 miles. I really can't remember the last time I've seen one from this generation, they've become extremely rare ( lol all long been crushed)

The car is 99% rust free, the paint look's awesome, the interior looks new still. I'm pretty stoked about it! Of course there will be some mechanical issues to overcome i'm sure, but it does run very well as is. I had one of these back in high school for a short time, always wanted another one.

I pick it up tomorrow and will post dome pictures.

That is insanely low mileage for an Audi 5000. Congrats on the purchase.

I would double check the floor mats on the driver side ensure it is properly "fastened'.

Drove it home today. These were met with huge praise by the auto press when new, I can see why. The steering is nicely weighted and quick, the ride is quite nice, and the 5cyl turbo pulls quite well. The car feels so solid for a 35 yr old car, they were well built cars and it shows. Surprisingly, all the power options work, even the power retracting radio antenna!

Still don't know what I'm going to do with it lol. When I get all the dust off I'll post up some pictures.

I had to look up C2 to be sure. C3 was the big seller and the one with the trumped up unintended-acceleration issues. I don't think I've ever seen a C2, let alone recently.

Neat find and congrats! Looking forward to pics and the story behind this time-capsule car.

Very cool. I bet it will be reasonably reliable and not too horrible to fix. Probably more reliable than a 5-10 year old Audi.

Cool car, heres hoping yours doesn't take the unicorn oil for the hydraulic system.

It was part of an estate, sat in underground parking for many, many years unused. The last owner bought it at 29,000 miles. It's a US car originally, there's a tag under the hood from a shop called "Doctor Johns" VW and Porsche specialist, the seven digit numer gave away that the place is now called "John Walkers Porsche"

I honestly think the tires are still original. They are Goodyear NCT-HR60, supposedly have not been available for 30+ years, they were the factory tire on Delorean's!

I've had a few of those too Fobroader! A 1988 Olympic edition Turbo Quattro, 1987 Turbo quattro, and a 1989 200 10V Turbo. I love the styling to this day, when I was a kid the 5000's always got my attention.

Yep, lol! Smells fuelish, oilyish, and inside has a very familiar smell, same kind my Uncle's 1970 280 ragtop has.
