Setting up a new subwoofer and then another one that matches. Finally running dual subs, no idea why it took so long. They just fit in the car.

Took my car for a spin today since it's nice and sunny. It's way too cold for my summer tires to be of any use whatsoever, but nevertheless, I can't help but giggle like an idiot as the car slithers around (even in a straight line) trying to find traction in gears 1-3.

Been catching up on the little jobs that the cars need.  Changed the alternator/power-steering drive belt on the Forester, topped off the fluids, etc.  It has an external head gasket leak, oil only, that is getting no worse - using 500ml of oil per 6000km, so no worries.

The old girl just keep on chugging along.  If the kid takes it with her when she head off, maybe it will make 500K?  That would be pretty cool.  I've only had one other car with over 500K in - a few over 400K, but only one over 500K.

Nice choice btw!  Can't beat SVS for the price imo.   That's something I've been mulling over trying myself so be interested in hearing your thoughts.  I've only ever heard a couple of dual sub setups in the past and both sounded great and much easier to integrate than a single unit.

I was upset that FCA decided I didn't qualify for some sales excellence stuff due to a misunderstanding at their end... I spoke to my bosses... appealed the decision... contacted a few lower level people... all said I was out of luck and I thought, ah well, it happens.

then someone told me, "hell no... go to the top! What can you lose?" and showed me a contact for VP of Canadian marketing and some dealer development. I kind of agreed, so sent off a quick note, never expecting to hear back... in ten minutes, he got back to me... after a few quick messages, he lets me know how much he appreciates what I do for the company and that I have been fully recognized and will be getting some added recognition.

I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease... i'm not usually one to squeak. won't start doing it often, but maybe now i'll actually stand up for myself a bit more.

The sounds of melting snow and ice.  I was actually able to lay on my front deck and soak up some sun for the first time this year. 8) Just waiting for it to swing around to the back deck for round two.

I shoveled snow onto the asphalt of the driveway, figured I'd use solar power to clear it up.

Thanks. Really liking them so far and the biggest improvement is more natural bass and less localization. As to being easier to integrate....not so sure on that part. The second sub can create more phase issues so I found there was a little more work involved. Of course if I had Audessey XT32 with SUB_EQ that would have helped...but I don't.

I'll email you my final thoughts after I tweak and play with them more.

Good to be home after a long weekend in Collingwood with another couple (kid free weekend).  The hotels were pretty busy, as was the village.  But very people on the slopes.  It was quite cold and windy on Saturday, I couldn't stand being outside just walking around for more than 1 hour.  Never mind skiing.  Don't care, didn't go to ski.

Going away is always bittersweet I find, such a chore to get ready (not suitcases, but the arrangements for the kids).  Drove from Burlington to Fort Erie Thursday evening with both kids (as my wife was working nights).  Spent the night there.  Left my daughter (3 1/2) for the first time ever with my Dad & Stepmom.  Left there house in the morning, to Hamilton, so my Aunt can watch my son (11 months).  Couldn't leave both at one house!  Aunt has her own kids, didn't want her to work to hard, and she works full time.  And my Dad is not experienced enough, nor does he care to be.... From Hamilton to Burlington to pack up the van, wake up my wife, drive to Oakville to pick up the other couple, and off to Collingwood.  Then the same today, left Collingwood at 4:30pm, got home at 10pm!  Must have drove like 800km!

But we had a great time.  And I was happy to record an average of 5.7L/100km going from Ft.Erie to Hamilton with the Mazda6.  (computer showed AVG Speed of 107km/h, I had the cruise set to 110km/h, outside temperate 1C).

Just driving the E90 325i again. A comfortable sense of familiarity and everything in its place, well-engineered and balanced. Even when chucked into bends at 80km/h, it's just so balanced......

^That's what I miss with the new Mazda that I normally drive. Checks all the numerical boxes yet is not loveable.

Me too...we clear the side patio into the driveway and let it melt in the sun.
