2017 Nissan Armada
« on: February 10, 2016, 07:32:11 pm »
Not a huge surprise but Nissan is replacing the current Armada – currently in its 12th (!) model year – with a variant of the global Patrol model. Personally I wish they would use the Patrol name here too. Like the similar Infiniti QX80 (née QX56) it has the 5.6 Endurance V8 but with 10 fewer horsepower. It actually looks like an SUV which is a bit refreshing these days.

That's one big ass rear bumper. Otherwise this truck looks great and seems to have been commissioned to a different design bureau.

:iagree: ON both counts, vehicle looks great, but the chrome above the wheels is a headscratcher.  One can hope that's only on the Platinum trim, and lesser trims are body-coloured?

Are there any more details of the new 5.6L for the Titan and Armada?  I'm wondering how much (if any) mileage has improved versus the old 5.6 hog.

This engine isn't new per se, it's the same as the one that has been in the QX56/QX80 for a few years now.

I wish they would use the he Patrol name too.   Armada never really caught on and a surprising number have heard of the Patrol.

Like the Land Cruiser it's got a strong reputation overseas.
