another common problem is the intake manifold gasket leaking. it's a rubber design and gets brittle over time. causes rough ideal, lose engine power, and engine check light come on with a code for running lean.
Replacement gasket is around $10 but takes a couple of hours of labour to change it out. You can do it yourself with some simple tools and a bit patience.
