Company located next door to my work place was getting their roof done (flat roof tarred) and I noticed tar whips on my car. I contacted the roofing company who after some finagling provided me with a detailer gift card of my choice. They were made aware of the issue prior to the card issue. I booked for Saturday and was very pleased with what they did. All tar removed and feels like a mild wax buffing to boot.

came in early to wash up my 2015 wrangler for the next owner... all official it would seem, so he's picking it up tomorrow.

i'll miss the anvil colour... looking over the numbers, my last one was a phenomenal deal... this one was a very good deal, but only worked because i had a customer for my jeep...

in the 4 years i have worked at this dealer i have bought a 2010 corolla, a 2014 wrangler unlimited, a 2015 wrangler unlimited, a 2015 renegade and a 2016 wrangler unlimited...

i'm my best customer!

Replaced the cornering lamps in the Cayenne.  It's the dark area directly below the main headlight.  They switch on and off with the steering wheel turning so burn out occasionally.

The whole assembly pops out by turning a device with a special Porsche tool.

It's a regular H3 bulb somewhere in there behind the fancy bi-Xenon stuff.

Took the Mazda back to the shop to check the front brakes.  Had the front rotors, pads and left caliper replaced a few weeks ago and, since then, the right brake would squeak under low to medium braking.  Shop replaced the right pads as they were "scorched" (shop's word).  No idea how that would have happened as I had been driving like a granny for the past few weeks.

I had replaced the A/C compressor, receiver/dryer, orifice tube and most of the o-rings in the Sonoma a couple weeks ago so brough it to work yesterday, our A/C chemical supplier was in and I'd asked him to bring his mobile equipment. Pulled a vacuum on the system, leak checked, and refilled. Blowing ice cold now, and best of all, no more compressor grind  ;D

Just had the 96000 km service done (i was at 95946). I get a call that my power steering fluid is very dark and that I should have it changed. The Cabin air filter was dirty too so I had that replaced and then they cautioned me that the glaze on the AC belt and the Alternator belt is gone but because there are no cracks they did not recommend replacement at this time and that they will keep on eye on the belts. Total bill was 651 (322 was the 96000 service and rest cabin filter and power steering fluid and new floor mats and taxes and shop supplies). My driver mat had a huge hole due to my heel to toe shifting so needed a new one but had to buy the whole set. Also the mechanics were wondering if I ever brake cause my original brakes are only 6 mm out of 9 mm that they started.

Took the Saturn SW2 for a ride to keep it functional but w/o any specific destination. At the end of the day, did a 160km loop! Maybe I felt to burn some gas today  ;D

Got a shop in Mississauga to replace the adjustable shocks on my MDX to regular ones and hack the computer to get rid of the warnings.  Cost me $1400 for parts and labour.  >:(
It sure beats replacing all four with adjustable ones for $5000, but it's still bad.

The front suspension assemblies were ~$380 each, and only the shocks were replaced for the rear at $85 each.
Labour for the swap and computer stuff was $500.

Gave the S2000 and Q50S a simple detail this morning.

  You are so lucky to not have front plates.

Considering that it's illegal not to have his front plate on, I'm think his luck isn't quite what you think, LOL.

Sent from my Vic20 using Java Moose

Yeah, I'm certainly running the risk by not having front plates installed.  I just HATE the look of a front plate on a nice car.  I've been pretty lucky though, I've been running no front plate on my cars for years now and haven't been bothered........knock on wood!  Ridiculous money grab law anyways.

There should be a decal version of the plate available (at an extra charge, of course) for the front.
You can buy them in the UK so you don't have to muss up the front of your E-type.

'Cause you can only drive down Main St. so many times

Yep. Elite in Canada or Sport in the U.S. have adjustable shocks that are actually noticeable when they're working.  Even with leaky ones I had, I could definitely tell the difference between comfort and sport mode.

Oil change

Castrol synthetic, oil drain plug gasket, and Fram oil filter change. Subaru gave me a new metal plug gasket since the original one had flattened out. Replaced the smaller oil filter a drive through shop had installed with OEM size one. Not cool. Powerboat TV had a tip about covering the oil filter with a baggie for less spillage. Good one.
