I like the looks of the Mazda and I would probably prefer to deal at a Mazda store.  But, nice to see the market with another little roadster even if it's basically another MX-5.

While I'm not all that crazy about Fiat in general, the looks alone would have me VERY interested in this over the Miata.
agreed...while i'm not in the market for a hot little roadster, if i were, as much as i'd be hesitant about Fiat, it just looks so good.

It seems the 124 will be assembled on the same line as a Miata. So build quality should be similar. However, the engine will be shipped from Italy, and I don't have information on its reliability.

Think that says it all.

They build 1.4t for domestic consumption  in Michigan.   Can't say for sure that this engine is going to Japan, but it's optimized for the North American market.

I assumed engines are Italian based on this article:

However, there is a 'MOPAR' stamp on the under-hood insulation.

Will be interesting to see Cdn pricing. Likely similar to the Miata list price. I wonder if there is more bargaining potential at a Fiat store. Not sure I'd want to buy a first year example but it would be really tempting next year.
