1976 MG B
1.8L L4, 4-speed manual with electric overdrive
ODO: 176,259 KM
18v672Z engine
Dual SU carb's
A/C Delco alternator

Price: $1,500 CAD
Not willing to ship. Bring a trailer.

Would make a great parts car in its current condition, excellent candidate for restoration. Very good body, electric o.d. transmission functions, roof in great condition.

Bad: dashboard (top is cracked), seats (cracked) and steering wheel (rubber has deteriorated) need replacement. There is rust on the passenger-side rear dogleg, and both doors have the "crack of doom". Rear-end hum (extra set of rear end gears included if needed). Engine has a hollow sound at idle, not a knock, unsure if it's a low-end bearing etc.

Good: Mild restoration completed approximately 10K miles ago: front/rear suspension rebuilt, new driver and passenger floors, rebuilt engine.

Car is located in Cornwall, ON. Posting for family member.

Why tempt me! lol.

That's a great buy for someone...If it were closer I'd probably scoop it, my dad probably has an engine I could swap into it, and the body/engine bay look remarkably solid.

As an FYI, someone has done some re-wiring under the hood...probably one of the cleaner jobs I've seen, but the issue remains that if/when something stops working it'll be that much harder to trace as the factory diagrams will be mostly useless.

Make an offer, my Dad might sell for less. My Dad did the rewiring, the ends were corroded, "no more good" in his words, so he spliced in the terminal blocks but lined up the factory wiring colour code so troubleshooting shouldn't be an issue.

If I was single, I'd be there with a rental U-Haul trailer!

If that was in AB I'd buy it from you right away. With overdrive gearbox and the SUs it has to be worth the asking price.  8)

I had to google "crack of doom" ... interesting design flaw! By "Bring a trailer" and "parts car", I get "no plates" ? It's a mere 136km from me...  :banghead:

Craig,

Did the MGB sell eventually? Is it road-worthy as it is?
