Gorgeous lines.  I agree the interior is in a serious need of an update, but the exterior may just make up for it.  I would choose a black interior to hide the decade old design better.  That shade of brown is not the nicest for the interior anyway.  I like the brown interior BMW uses - it's more crisp.

What a gorgeous car!  Mike, I totally see what you mean about that steering wheel, it's absolutely horrible on a car of this price.  What were they thinking after making the car so visually stunning on the outside?   ???

Yup, that steering wheel looks totally out of place.  I guess I'd just have to keep taking deep pokes at the loud pedal with the windows down to make up for it!  Ohhhhhh....what a sound!!!!

While I agree, that steering wheel is so bad it belongs in a Chrysler, that car is oh so pretty. The exhaust note and.....well just look at the fackin thing totally make up for the low rent, Chry. Co. steering wheel.
Lighten up Francis.....

I've often wondered if Jag sold a reproduction E-type with modern driveline and brakes, if people would buy it.  This car is very handsome in a modern way, but I don't see the beauty in the new coupes from Jag/MB/BMW/Aston that I saw in the flowing sheetmetal of the 1960s.  Maybe I'm just an old curmudgeon that's lost the plot, but I'd love to see truly gorgeous sheetmetal that has no slavery to modern aerodynamic theory in it's design.

A modern luxury car with a sub-par interior in this price range is a failure, full stop.

A Jaguar with a bad interior? Good grief.

I don't understand all the griping about the interior  ??? Maybe I should see the car in person, but it doesn't look bad at all in pictures. Looks like a classic GT car cockpit to me.

Yes, the sat nav is probably outdated, but what do you expect in a design from 2006? Okay, they should've updated it, but that's why you never order one in the first place - electronic gizmos date, fast, and 90% of time they're just a nuisance from day one.

And yes, the steering wheel is not a sleek and sporty 3-spoke design. Big deal, it's a GT car, regardless of it being the "R" model.

I don't think the interior is all that bad but it is kind of generic and out of place in this car. If I was shown a photo of the dash and asked to guess what car it was from I'd never guess Jag in a million years.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

Overall, the interior doesn't seem too bad at all and I don't mind it.  The steering wheel on the other hand is atrocious for a car in this price range.  I doubt it will be a deal killer for me as the exterior is just so nice looking.

I agree, the 60's E-Type is on my top five list of my favorite cars.

"Turns out, the Jag is not powered by a Trabant engine." Well, even the new Fiat 500 with its own Euro spec two cylinder is far from Trabants...What isn't too far from, is the design philisophy of this Jag - the elliptical lines remind me previous Fords like Taurus and Mondeo/Contor - seems to me these design clues go nowhere...I know, I know it worked well for the F-type many years ago. But now may be they need some Italian house like Pininfarina, Bertone or Italdesign?

Beautiful beast for sure, but if they were looking for a low rent steering wheel, they could have at least sourced one from mazda!!  Reminds me of an old girlfriend who was gorgeous, but wore the goofiest looking glasses that made her look ridiculous!

there are some good things and bad things about the interior. the layout is simple, not ugly IMO, but not as appealing as the new XJ, and some of the plastics and switchgear feel like they were from a Ford parts bin that Jag kept when they were sold to Mahindra or whoever, and they have simply kept using it to this day... however, the leather of the seats is really nice, and the roofliner is Alcantara cloth, but Jaguar went and tacked on an external Bluetooth mic on the A-pillar and it looks like a little cockroach clinging to the pillar—it's just wrong, especially for a car north of $100K, and in my eyes a worse offense than the steering wheel, which i didn't mind so much.

It's not quite a reproduction, but it's still drop dead gorgeous in my books:

ahh...i thought it was either a kit car, or some "maybe someday" car shown at an auto show...i didn't realize it is a new model coming soon...sweet jebus that is one dead sexy car...i need to go google some more pics to get some interior shots along with what it looks like with the top up...then, find out what i can get for my Rio5 on trade. ;D ;)
