Too funny. My wife works in cemeteries and this is her company car.

I'm also in the market for a biggish SUV (2 to 4 years years preowned).  The V6 Explorer is at the top of my list... But the Durango is up there too... Love the Cherokee but I just think the 3rd row would be useful on occasion.

Someone mentioned the Durango doesn't have the best visibility (blind spots?) - that would be a turnoff...  I think the refresh on the Explorer added to its appeal - great looking vehicle IMO.

The FourRunner would be my dream car.. love that it's maintained it's classic look and Toyotas are bullet proof..

Had a V6 Explorer as a rental in Arizona 2 years ago......horrible. That engine sucks, save up your empties and go for the Ecoboost 3.5TT V6.
Lighten up Francis.....

Take delivery of a new blizzard pearl Highlander XLE this week. Finding a Unit we liked was easy, went way over budget but oh well, we're keeping it for a long time. Was a long tough battle with our trade in though. I seriously can't believe some of the offers dealerships gave on our sorento, most claim it's just A low resale vehicle. Oh well, lesson learned and hopefully the Toyota will serve us well. Pretty excited at this point!

Thank you Autos gang. I'll stop in occasionally with ownership updates.

Just bought a used 2012 GMC Acadia SLT for $21,000. Beautiful truck, leather and a bunch of options. Lots of room and decent fuel mileage.

When I was in a similar position, I narrowed it down to the Pilot and the Explorer.  Pilot has the advantage of an adjustable middle row if legroom is a concern.  I got an explorer because that came up at auction first.

I'm happy with it so far, although both rear wheel bearings have had to be replaced at 120-140,000 km.

congrats! I'm sure you will be happy with the choice...

as for the trade stuff... unfortunately it's true... my wholesaler is here right now, and his literal words when i told him i have a really nice genesis coming in on trade was, "no one wants an expensive kia or hyundai"...

they might be great cars, but supply is pretty good, new prices and rates are so strong, that to sell a used one, they have to make the price just nuts.

Congrats on the purchase!  Were you able to bring down the purchase price from MSRP at all?

They don't want cheap Kia's either. The Toyota store I bought from was not one bit interested in my Sorento. I got pretty much the same treatment at every other dealership. All I can say is a lesson was learned.

The Highlander has been fantastic so far. We already have 7000 km on it. My Wife loves everything about it, and a happy Wife=happy life!
