I have it.   Instructions say to remove for the winter.   I never remove it.   Seems to be fine.

Gets dirty wash in the spring.

Caution slippery when wet.

good job!

i got a larger garage with new place, but there's a support beam right in the middle of it, so that's kind of a bummer.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Larger garage is always nice. Mine's only 17'6" wide by 20' deep with that 7'x4' "nook" at the back so it limits what I can do.

A vertical support post ? Or horizontal support beam on the ceiling ?

I forgot. Opinions please. Two options for car detailing supplies shelves:

Staggered or squared up ?

Thanks !

Staggered would give the option of placing some taller items on the bottom shelf, however you could just place taller items on the top shelf.

That being said, my brain wants symmetry  :).

Oh, and good job by the way.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Thanks for your opinion and the kind words ! It's nothing compared to numerous examples on garagejournal.com but with my (lack) of skills/talent it'll do for me  :)

I'm voting for staggered. Bonus points for the sweet looking SS.

Stained, poly'd and staggered it is. Had to get into wall studs so I was limited with the staggering. Still have to build the guard rail surround so the spray bottles don't tumble down:

I also did up a half-length 7" shelf above the main workbench for a radio etc.

Da nng, that's good looking workspace.

I just cleaned my garage yesterday.  Took me 3 hours and I didn't even hose it down or anything.

Previous owner apparently never cleaned the garage.  With my boxes and tools still laying around everywhere, I had to keep moving things around to be able to sweep all the crap out.

Tried to use water hose, and mine burst open....had to stick to sweeping.  So much dirt and dust, I probably inhaled a pound of dust.  I blew my nose after and it was black.

Did you take any before/after photo's ? I hate when you blow your nose and the detritus ejected is discolored  :( I used cheap floor paint on my floor and rinse it out a couple of times per year.

Forgot there was a Garage Thread!  So, figured i'd post this stuff here.

The Weels Garage is getting a refresh:

REFRESH # 1:
Bought one of these Wagner paint sprayers on sale.

I had a few paint project to-do's, one of them being our 20 year old garage doors.  I last painted them at least 10 years ago and it was a PITA with brush & rollers because of the textured surface.  I figured if the sprayer could speed up that process it would be worth every penny.
Decided to tackle the inside first to get the hang of the sprayer.  Doors were pretty grungy looking and had rusted along the bottoms.  Also replaced both rubber pads that had been chewed over the years by mice/chipmunks/other rodent.

Attached the wire wheel to cordless drill and went at the rust.  Part way through door #1 the cordless barfed smoke & flames in a solid burnout.  I now need a new cordless drill.  Dug out my old corded drill and resumed the de-rusting.

Then went at it with the sprayer.  Pretty easy to use.  It is very precise side-to-side with no overspray, but there is some overspray up & down.  Once you get the feel of how it works, it does a nice job.

Happy with it.  The clean-up is a bit of a pain though.
Next up is doing the faded outside.

But first....

REFRESH # 2:

The floor gets a re-surface.  Our concrete floor was a bit tired in spots and had a big crack running the width.
The re-surfacing included grinding out the crack and filling it with a resin goo.
Then the floor gets 'diamond grinded' to remove any oil/grease/gas/salt.

The base coat goes down (here you can also see my finished spectacular white garage doors  ;D ):

Tomorrow, the black & white flecks you can see on base of the walls gets added to floor then the whole thing gets sealed.

Looks great! I've been wanting to do the inside of my garage doors white (currently bare wood), looks like a sprayer like yours would save me quite a bit of time.

For sure it's way quicker than brush/roller, especially on a textured surface.
