« on: March 01, 2012, 04:02:56 am »

A modern Buick with European road manners, the Buick Regal eAssist isn't as fuel efficient as expected.

And awaaaaaaaay we go!

I'll check the thread out once it gets to page 8 or so.
Since October 2015 the Junior PM has been in office.  Record mega-Billion deficits as he p*sses away our future.  An economy gutted. Stinky POTHEADS rejoice. We are going down the drain.

Why wouldn't the author reset the fuel economy guage? Maybe the guy that drove the car last had it to the boards the whole time.

I borrowed a friends Ecoboost F150 2 weekends ago and when I got in it it was reading 19L/100kms - by the time I returned it it was down to 18L/100kms (I only drove it about 15kms). I asked my buddy's wife (its "her" vehicle) and she said my buddy took it to hockey the night before. He's usually driving his 06 TB SS - and he drives that thing like its got a throttle switch - not a progressive pedal.

About the car itself though - I'm not really sold on the styling... I think they need to do something more drastic with it - still reminds me of the "old man's" Buick. Maybe do something like a retro-grand national styling theme or something.

I wondered about that too, when Paul told me his experiences with this car. I drove it after him (reset the trip computer!) and got 9.5 L/100 km in city driving. Not stellar, but past Regals I've tested averaged 10.4 (2.4-litre) and 12.5 (2.0-litre turbo), and in warmer weather. This car is expensive for the benefit it offers compared to non-eAssist models, but there is some benefit.
