Honda Pilot is a utilitarian vehicle that gets its job done efficiently, but without anything to set itself above competitors.

This product clearly was made for the U.S. market as I barely see them here in the G.T.A.. You can practically place a Ford/Gm badge on this thing as it lacks the distinction of the Honda brand (maybe that was the intent). Either way the design looks long in the tooth considering others have managed to squeeze out more style out their big blocks on wheels.

I found this odd:

"Cruising at 100 km/h, the engine turns at 2,000 rpm, and 120 shows 2,500 on the tach. "

My '03 shows a tick over 2000rpm at 120.  Maybe the newer ones rev higher so that 3 cylinders can pull it along at higher speeds?
Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Its a good, solid SUV.  Its just getting a little dated but I'm sure the replacement is just around the corner.

I know... I thought that seemed a bit high for its cruising speed, so had to check several times. And I believe it was pretty consistent whether in 3- or 6-cylinder mode, although I didn't specifically document whether there were different engine speeds in different engine modes... now I'm curious. But not curious enough to drive this truck again anytime soon. I will check with Honda reps to find out if that is feasible.

I don't think the rpm's would change dependent on cylinder deactivation.  I was just thinking that Honda geared it higher to compensate for less power when running on 3 cylinders.
