The second tank on my Rio was 7.8L/100 km, all Vancouver city driving, ie horrid. The third one is running 7.2 at the moment.
I'd never join a group that would have me as a member.

My number with the brand new Michelin Pilot Sport tires is 6.6 L/100Km. I am pretty impressed so far with my car. In the winter with the XIce tires I get 7.1 L/100Km. Mydriving is 70% hwy.

gotta love the warmer weather.

11.8L / 100km with the Taco on the lastest tank.

this even includes two small towing trips with a decent load

Last 4,000 kM = > 20.2 kWh / 100 kM : Jan-Feb-March have been quite cold this winter but I kept it warm & fast  ;D My average would improve now with temperature above -10C

Brilliant!  I'm getting a lot more range out of my Smart ED with spring time and warmer temperatures.  Typically going 3 days per recharge.  Still loving it.  Not a single issue, never seen the dealer, not for "blinker fluid" or anything since I bought it.  Fellow Smart ED driver has >45000km with zero loss of range on his high voltage battery.  Can't beat this little car!

Yeah ! I already start doing better, if I want to! ;)

Last week-end, could have driven 160-180km if had keep going like that  (mix of city drive & 90 kM/h Hwy).
As per RNC, rated 17.8 kWh / 100 kM combined

Gone but not forgotten in chronological order: 2019 Volt, 2013 Volt, 2014 Spark EV, 2012 Volt and many others before...

I drove my wife's Grand Cherokee with the 3.6L V6 Pentastar and was able to get 14.1 L/100. The same driving with my 2.5L Subaru Legacy gets me 10.8L/100. All the same city driving to and from work.

The third tank on the Rio netted 7.3L/100km. That included one jaunt to Squamish. As it is hilly and twisty, it's hardly highway driving in the flatland sense.

I'm very impressed with this fuel efficiency and in the Rio in general.

I just got 6.4 L/100 from my last tank of fuel as per Fuelly. Mostly highway driving.

I filled up a couple days ago with E10 (98 RON/93 AKI) instead of the usual ethanol-free. Suburban fuel consumption is up by ca. 5% to 7,6 l/100km against the usual 7,2 l/100km since then. The link is clickable with all sorts of data, but the trend shows.

What slightly irritates me about my car is that no matter where I drive, or how I drive it, it seems to land smack around the same average. Yes, there are some outliers caused by timing (i.e, doing a fill up after going down the mountains). Autoroute? 7,2. Suburban? maybe around 7,3. I mean, what's the point of getting a car that can't do better?

I had to go to Loreburn to look at some valve controls yesterday. 400k round trip. I ended up taking Moby Grape. Averaged 6.2L/100km for the trip. Easy peasy.  ;D

300k round trip in the Tundra yesterday taking the kiddos to their grandparents.  12.7l/100kms cruising at 120.  That's as good as it gets.

Just returned from a 1150 km round trip to edmonton. Four adults and a crapload of stuff on the trip home.  Cruising on the highway at 120-125 with some stints 130-140 and a few short trips around the city netted 8.6l/100km.

And ya, that's Canadian.  There's also another 100+ Kokanee in there and a few 66's. That's what I feed the neighbours 😜.

The 2.4 ;) ?  It was adequate.  I actually didn't notice that much of a drop in performance with that much extra weight, maybe more so at lower rpm.  I quite like the 2.4L overall.  It always feels a bit weak after driving my Tundra though, which is expected.

I knew that  ;D Yeah my parents are thinking of downsizing from a V6 Odyssey to a smaller 4 banger CUV. Hard to test drive one with a full load.

Parents came over to visit, took them (mild) whitewater rafting yesterday. I did the return drive home, approx 120km and achieved 8,4 l/100km in their Tiguan. Not bad considering the mountainous terrain (frequent rolling terrain signed at 5-7%) and 3 people.

It really is a lovely engine. So smooth too......redlined it on an onramp, no vibrations whatsoever.
