14x24  Shed / Garage

Nobody comes on the long weekend to help build stuff.  All gone with family doing family things.

I'm at the point I need some help now to raise the roof ;)    Actually I have to do the wall sheathing first which I can do alone.

I have to wait for building inspector to come though in case I need to anchor it.

That's too bad.  I usually spend long weekends working outdoors.  Fences, decks, landscaping.  Go away during the week...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Total build cost $4000

Slab would have been half that at least.

Also it's a shed, for storing garden tools...  Slab is kind of overkill

14x24 sounds like overkill for storing garden tools.  :P

Yeah I had 8x10 it was too small, WAY too small.  So go big or don't do it at all.

You would need about 4 m3 of concrete, forms, saw cuts , someone to finish it
Would not be cheap
Concrete is $200 per  metre for 30 mph with 6% air

Around here, 100 sq ft doesn't require a permit, so mine was 8x12.

I pay $134 for 32 Mpa

I paid $300 per cubic meter 3 years ago for my driveway.  Prices are about the same today.

I gave Dufferin list price , of course you would get it cheaper , but I did not think they would give James a discount

Started the roof last night.   Hoisting beam into place in pouring rain on slippery ladder and floor.

Exciting!

Also kind of magic how it stays up with no nails yet.

that looks like fun.  reminds me of a couple of years ago, i built my shed (it'sonly 8x12, but has a 12-12 pitch roof) completely by myself, no help.  Putting the plywood on the roof was the hardest part.

Nice work! That's a decent sized shed.

Looking good.  You're going to either install ceiling joists or collar ties to prevent the walls from spreading, right?

Of course you are.
