Yeah there ended up being more snow than forecast here.

I was looking forward to a quick driveway cleanup since it was nice light powder (it cooled down tonight), not the usual slushy snow, to find that both my shear pins are broken  >:(. I have one spare, not two! So I'll have to dig a small segment of the windrow tomorrow morning to get myself out to buy some.  >:(

I guess this comment probably should go in the unhappy thread but whatever.

Get a Toro and never worry about shear pins again.  :)

They don't have them?

Well, I should be thankful for the snowblower itself... We used to do our driveway by shovel until recently... it's really large as far as suburban driveways goes, too.

A quick trip to the home depot and I got myself some extra spares. It took me longer to dig the car out than it did to drive there, buy the bolts, and drive back.

I always just use 1/4" threaded machine screws.  Seems to work just fine and I have lots of them.

Blizzard Warning for Winnipeg.
Snow. Blizzard developing this morning. Snowfall amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind northwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 increasing to 60 gusting to 80 this morning. Temperature falling to minus 12 this afternoon. Wind chill minus 25 this afternoon.

Conditions look like they'll meet the criteria for a blizzard but shouldn't be too bad.

It was +10C for much of the day yesterday. Today was right around 0C, but pretty windy.

Actual weather now is similar to Montréal, go figure: -7° and light snow. Persistent NW flow pattern means I don't need to go far to find light but accumulating snow.

With a max/min of -10°/-19°, I think Saturday may be another day where I hit the slopes.  "advisory for wind chill"....silly Southerners.

What?!?  I have the temperature go UP at night because my wife is always cold in the winter, and my youngest son won't stay covered up in blankets.
