I wonder what tires it comes with?    I also wonder if it comes with a speed limiter and if so, whether that can be disabled by the dealer. It would seem ridiculous for this to have a 210 km/h speed limiter because of OEM tires.   But from reading articles about some of the close to 200 mph cars that are available the tires are pretty special and have a life measured in hours if the performance is used.
The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.

This car is insane.  It hit another level with all that horsepower.  Withing four years this thing is gonna be pushing 700hp.  This thing has more than three times the horsepower of my car.  I would love to have this for just one week.

Surely they should be W or even Y rated

Lawyers care.   Somebody crashes and kills themselves at an insane speed above the tires limit and there will be a big lawsuit.

Okay, so Ford unleashes a beast and a half at a relative bargain price and the complaint is the tires could be better?  I would go apoplectic if I were a Ford bean counter.

Buy the car, burn through the tires by 2k and get a better set.  Such is life in the fast lane.

Besides, any legal claim brought on behalf of a deceased person who died exceeding 240 km/hr is going to be significantly hampered by the driver's contributory negligence.
But if a 3rd party was killed or injured and then surely not only the driver but also Ford would get sued.  I am thinking ( of course) of the USA and a jury trial here.

SO it is not that the tires SHOULD be better it is that the tires fitted by the manufacturer should be rated  capable of holding together at the max speed the vehicle can attain.

We are talking very low probability here but isn't that how lawyers send their kids to Harvard?

OEM tires on 99% of vehicles are crap, bottom basement, lowest bidder models.
1) Buy a Cobra
2) get better tires
3) go out hooning and being socially irresponsible
Or just burn off the OEM set and then get real tires for it, I dont know about you but the first set of tires wouldnt see the first oil change if I owned this car.
Lighten up Francis.....

Exactly what I'd do. This car is on my emerging short list for a new weekend ride. Mostly I like its irreverence.

I think if you can afford the $65-70K for this weekend toy, then a few grand in proper track rims and tires wont be a deal breaker.

Yeah i was actually able to go faster in the "lesser" mustangs on the track due to the tires.

Like the Boss 302 Laguna Seca?? That to me seems like the perfect Mustang, it handles, sounds great and is cheaper than the Shelby.......but there is something to be said for 650 horsepower  ;D

I think I prefer the Camaro.

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Camaro for me

Harris summed the cars up perfectly.

Mustang for me.  It's more raw, more power, fewer electro nannies, lighter, better interior and requires more driver skill.

All this equal more fun.

Makes perfect sense to me that the guy with the AWD car prefers the Camaro.... ;)
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Personally, I'll take the Shelby over the Camaro ZL1 any day.  Having grown up around classic Mustangs, I guess I'm more of a Mustang guy.  I drove a Camaro SS last summer and really loved it.  Absolutely hated the interior though.  As cheap as the interior is in my wife's new Civic, the Camaro is worse IMO.  I wouldn't kick either car out of my garage, but I'll take the smaller, lighter Mustang.   :)

No, I just want the better car.

Well, the electro-nannies is what makes it "better" so...... :stick:
