I had one of these many moons ago...in white, also...I loved the car..I bought it (very) used and my brother and I had to replace a piston and set of rings (actually a snap job)...except for the torquing down of the head, without a torque wrench... (I thought I had it about right...wrong!) which necessitated another head gasket change...Those cars were just so easy to work on...It had a Borg Warner tranny....great piece of machinery..It may have been the roomiest car I ever owned..What the article doesn't mention is that a major front-end change, ball joints vs. kingpins made it a much better riding, more reliable car... I likened it to a huge, white, bread-box...Loved it.

reminds me of my Dad's Ramblers, he first bought a '62 Rambler Classic Six (red 4 door with a white roof), then traded it a few years later and bought a 1967 Rambler Rogue, 2 door hardtop white with red interior, 6 cylinder.

Very attractive, and well-done getting a 1967-era picture scanned so clearly. That Rogue is based on the smaller Rambler American chassis, while the Rogues being discussed were based on the bigger Classic platform. I honestly did not remember that AMC made a Rogue from the American chassis - I always thought they were all Classic-based.

my aunt has a Rambler (not sure of the year)...it has back seats that "fold flat" kind of like a futon (i think the front seats recline all the way too).

Looking at the pics again, is that a '63 Classic parked on the street in the 2nd pic?

That big slice of chrome on the side of the seat is so cool. And I *love* the red. If only car interiors still came in actual colours, and not just varying shades of grey and beige.
I used to work here.

When I hear the name "Rambler" I'm reminded of this tune...
