All seasons tire Ford escape 2009 2wd
« on: February 04, 2016, 04:39:27 am »
I am looking for a new set of tire for next summer and i have stoped my research on 3 differents one. The Khumo Solus TA11, The BFG Long trail and the Continental Crosstrack LX20.
While the Continental seem to be the top notch in this case but also more pricey, the BFG long trail seem like the standart choice here but i am not 100% sure about its quality and finally the khumo just happend to be there because i found an amazing deal and after few research, it seems like good quality but i feel like they would be a better match for a regular car than an SUV. My priority for my new tires are comfort and safety. I'd like to know what you guys think of each tire and since i have a great deal on the khumo should i go for it? Thanks for your advices and if you have any other suggestion between 100-175$ CAD (each) feel free to post it!

PS: I already have winter tires since you're obligated to have one for winter where i live! So the tire don't need to be any good in winter conditions!

^ you are very helpful!  ;D

The top 3 rated truck tires on Consumer Reports are (in order) the Michelin Latitude Tour, the MichelinLTX M/S 2, and the Goodyear Assurance CS TripleTred. The Continental CrossContact LX20 EcoPlus is sitting in fifth, behind the Pirelli Scoripion Verde.

I've bought two pair of Kumho's and won't buy another pair.  Neither did anything really wrong but in my opinion they aren't at the level of the top tier manufacturers.  YMMV and all that.

Just make sure you inflate the tires to the correct pressure to ensure that smooth bump free ride.

Depends on where you live, what kind of roads you drive (paved, gravel...)

I'd look at some Yokohama's maybe? They are a good Japanese brand with quality build and a few different tread patterns in the (235/70R16?) size for your vehicle. Plus they are all priced around $170

Michelin Latitude Tours were the oem tires for the Escape Hybrid. While many oem tires are awful things hated and soon replaced by owners, Escape forums have nothing but approval or praise for the Latitude Tour.  They're also a low rolling resistance tire.  I have them for summer use on my '09 Escape Hybrid, and I have no problem with them.
And some cretins think I hate cars.
