Great collection!

   Thanks Railton and Bob,

The local collector guy here told me he got a Jaguar collection in, so as he brings them into the shop I will be looking at them to see if there are any that interest me.  Would like an XJ, preferably a Series 1 V12; an XJS, and would like to replace the Burago E Type with something better.  Oh, and of course an XJ13  :D

All nice but I absolutely love that 240Z. I'll have to spend a little bit of time on eBay later tonight.

Picked up these two models today at Costco.  The Vette is for my nephew and the AMG is for me.  ;D

Love those Jags and the 240Z. Some of those Jag's I actually have (XK8, E-type and the XJ220).

Ok, a question for the serious diecast guys here: I found a stash of original 1:18 Autoart diecasts in their original boxes at stupid-low prices in an auto parts store. They have a M-B 190 2.0 on clearance at 48$, but it's also marked 50% off. I looked on ebay and found a single one ... at $300 US  :o  My find is in the box. And it's a fine model:

Other finds there are British, Range Rovers, MGs and such, all discontinued items, hovering in the 70-75$ range.

I'm thinking of going back, buying their inventory and become an ebay king. :winner:

I know Autoart is highly regarded, but is there really a market for these, or only ebay dreamers?

^ Not a ton of demand for older discontinued models, typically
I grabbed a discontinued AutoArt MG a few years ago for about $30 -- not sure of the exact model # but it's a dark blue convertible..

Most buy models they are interested in when newly released.. so you'd likely be sitting on your ebay King stockpile a while
This probably would not be you:   ;D

I bet you made some cash but it would probably take a lot longer than you'd expect. For narrow and specific market.

I'd say buy the lot right away, but parcel them out slowly when you sell.

I love this thread. I have a real soft spot for vintage diecast from Corgi, Dinky, etc.  These are my two most recent acquisitions, a FIAT 1800 and a Ferrari GT 250 LeMans Berlinetta.  Both are Corgis.  They show plenty of signs of having been loved and played-with, but that is part of their charm.
I'd rather be car-poor than house-poor...

^. Man, I wish I still had my old Dinky and Corgi collection from when I was a kid.  Probably had hundreds, along with boxes of DC and Marvel comic books.  Should have come home when mom was selling the house!   :P

Vintage find of the day!

Two new old-stock mint-in-box made-in-Japan Shinsei Mini Power construction vehicles.  I recall seeing these in Woolco at the Avalon Mall in the mid-seventies when I was 5 or 6.  There was a broad range of construction equipment, and I always thought they were great models, but for some reason didn't acquire any -- until today!

So did anyone ask Santa to bring them some toys for Christmas?

eBay Santa is sending me a nos, wrapped 1:25 Revell of Germany MGB plastic kit from Germany. That kit is long discontinued, and it was a re-branded Aoschima model. I'm still itching to go grab these Autoarts I located!

I have that blue roadster.

Everyone should have these hanging on the tree:

I haven't bought anything new for about 3 years or so... should have a look to see what Santa could bring me...

The blue MGB roadster is the one I wanted, but the only "B" they did not have. However, they did have multiple copies of the "Monte Carlo" red MGB racer, a single green MGB GT and two red ones. Besides the single copy of the Merc, they had 4 or 5 Autoart Range Rovers, in brown-black boxes like this one:
