What is in the Advanced Package ($3,260)?
Is it worth it ?
Is the back up camera still in the mirror ?

A always, a thorough, and wonderfully written article, Pritch!!

I, too, never liked hybrid brake feel, but can't argue that they still work. The first gen RX hybrid is awful.

And that is silly good mileage... But I've seen good mileage on long highway drives at 105.  The fiesta managed 4.7-4.9L/100km consistently from Windsor to Guelph. The Corolla is in the low 5s at that speed, too.  It's over you get to 115-120 that you see fuel economy tank. I wonder where the Prius sits at that speed.

I drive a BMW , a pick up and a truck and never notice much difference in braking between the 3 vehicles but  we have had each one for more than 5 years and I am just use to it

I dont care about the drivetrain. It is hideous. Done.
If driving an Alfa does not restore vitality to your soul, then just pass the hospital and park at the morgue to save everyone time.

Now drives a Jaaaaaaag...and thus will not pay for anything during an outing...but it is OK, because....I drive a Jaaaaaag.

Did they HAVE to make it look as ugly as possible? I'm all for being different, but that is just WRONG.

I actually don't mind the interior, though.

I drove a 2008 Prius on a regular basis and didn't like how the brakes operated, but I got used to it after just a few days.

For my next car, I'd be willing to consider a hybrid car and will definitely test drive a few.  For the amount of driving I do, it just makes more sense.

Nice review.

What keeps me away is the looks.  The front looks good to me (at least in the pictures), side profile is ok, but that rear.  OMG.  It's awful.

I also am not a fan of the central instrument cluster.  To me, it's not very driver-centric.

I can't stand the raised curved belt line and the tiny wheels combo. Pixar should use it to film "Last car on Earth"  :rofl2:

That was from a recent trip to the east coast through 'Murica. The MFI has a spot where you can turn on alternate units.

I test drove one a few weeks ago and I did not enjoy it at all. My wife gave it a go too and she called it the anti car, she told me that if I buy one it is case for divorce.
The brakes never felt right, in Eco mode the car had no power at all and to top it all it looks "different".

I have a '15 C-Max SEL. It does all the new improved Prius does drivetrain wise (ie; seamless transition between gas and electric) and I get 5-5.3/100 all day. Plus 188 hp and ability to cruise at 100-120 kph on electric. Looks better too in my books. But then again, I just had cataract surgery so what do I know.

Prius is for sure a vehicle with totally different feeling than regular cars. And Toyota keep both interior and exterior distinguish as well. I never became used to this dashboard...
Otherwise kudos to Toyota for the extraordinary reliability of this very complex vehicle. The price is reasonable too.

I saw one in the dark the other night, and the exterior lighting is AMAZING.  Very cool.

I'd buy one in a second if I wanted a hybrid.  Avant-garde looks, amazing technology and bullet-proof build quality all add up to a great long-term experience.  But, as noted, for us, the compact car non-hybrids have come so close in fuel economy that the economics just aren't there when looking at most hybrids.  I've personally witnessed the economy the new Corolla ECO is capable of, and for $21K well equipped.  That's the one I'd buy.
