Parts I've been waiting on for the Spitfire arrived; so I assembled everything I can off the car, release bearing, new bushing, pins etc on the clutch arm. Everything is now 100% ready to go back into the car...It's a two person job though, so I Just need to coordinate some time with my brother to help me lift things. Hoping to have it together next weekend  :D

Installed two car seats in the GMC yesterday - first time going front-facing, hopefully it will be easier to get the girls in and out.  But damn that truck is high compared to the F150...and that's the regular suspension setup (obviously all those clowns with jacked-up trucks don't have small kids!)  Thankfully we won't have to use the truck much for transporting the kids.

Washed summer lug nuts with wheel cleaner and elbow grease. I use a lug nut brush when I wash the cars but still had baked on brake dust, road tar, and dirt. Sanded a few rust spots and touched up with silver wheel paint. Used wax on the outer edges but didn't want to get any on the contact surfaces. I replaced a 15 year old set with cheap auto store ones which are now rusting. I guess I need OEM ones.

Took advantage of the above freezing temps to give the Firebird a good wash.

Not my car yet but I bought this dashcam for the V60:
http://www.blackboxmycar.com/collections/under-100/products/skyview-g6-car-camcorder-english-version

So far seems pretty good for just testing it around the house. Its reasonably small, and you can shut the screen off. Unlike the fancy ass $200+ Blackvue it also starts recording instantly and doesn't overheat (the Blackvue takes 30 seconds before starting to record, and has major heat issues that make me worry).

A few minor caveats but overall quite pleased.
-the plastic is a bit sharp edged....yes I know for $99 what can I expect
-it runs off 5 VDC, not 12 VDC. The transformer is in the cig socket adapter. So to do the hardwiring I will need to get a 12VDC to 5VDC transformer. About $5 on ebay.
-comes with nothing in the way of accessories

I'll probably find one or two more annoyances when I get it in the car but so far I am very pleased.

I'd guess part of the problem is financing - who has the money to buy a used jeep in cash? Every store/dealer I've been to seems to be set up that they think financing buyers first, cash second.

my case is actually a great one for the buyer... i'm doing an in-out deal, so if they wanted to finance i'm sure my finance manager wouldn't have an issue making a few extra bucks and putting an app in. i have my first seemingly real potential customer wanting to look at it over the next couple days... we shall see.

the corolla, i got a bunch on responses when i sold it... but practically none from trader, all from kijiji... and not to stereotype, but all very... interesting names. and all low ballers. ended up selling it for less than i had already been offered from a few people in order to sell it to someone i was more comfortable dealing with....

this price point doesn't seem to be a kijiji strength... i guess i could do ebay motors.

It's the new reality with used cars sold on AutoTrader and Kijiji and a real menace.  Where the norm is offers of 50 cents on the dollar and lots of yelling.

yeah... i don't know if they are actual customers or what, but they act like wholesalers who i owe something to.
